And what happened to Jack? Unfortuntaely, he had froze to death in the hedge maze. When the snowstorm finally stopped and at the end of January, when there was blue sky for a few days, Jack's frozen body stood in the hedge, a look of terror on his face. The Overlook Hotel had opened for business the next season and the hotel decided to hire a solo person instead of a family for the next winter and I'm pleased to say, he did quite well. Dick's body was never found and the police didn't believe he was deceased. He remains, to this date, missing according to the police. What happened to his body, I can unfortunately never clearly explain. But Jack's on the other hand, is quite a bizarre different story.

The day before Opening Day, the cleaners came in to clean up the hotel and make it ready for the guests to arrive. One cleaner was quite fascinated by a picture, yet spooked but never said why. The picture was dated back to July 4th 1922 at The Overlook Hotel Masquerade Ball. There was a party of people, all deceased now, most still haunting the hotel to this date and all being present the night Jack had encountered the ghostly party in The Gold Ballroom, but there was one extra person in the picture present. Jack Torrance stood in the picture, smiling grandly. Why he is in there will never be clear. But suffice to say, Jack will never leave the hotel. Instead, he'll be there forever and ever and ever.
