You and Daniel have been best friends for a really long time and y'all hung out every moment you could. when yall weren't hanging out in person you were texting or facetiming. the rest of your friends would always tease you and talk about how cute you guys would be together and you would just laugh it off but on the inside, you would agree with them. a few months ago you and Daniel were sitting on the beach and talking about life when his hand grazed yours and you felt a jolt of electricity shoot through you. you looked at him and wondered if he felt the same feeling you did but decided to shake the feeling off in order to preserve the friendship.
Daniel had joined a band and even though he was busy more often he would still facetime you every night and sing you to sleep. you guys wouldn't even have to talk, just the presence of one another would create the same feeling if you were in person.
one night you and Daniel were on facetime and he was talking about how jack learned a new trick on his skateboard you started crying. he immediately stopped and asked what was wrong. you shrugged your shoulders and put your head in your hands with tears flowing freely.
"y/n please look at me." he pleaded. you looked up slowly. "whats wrong?" he asked after a moment of silence.
"I don't know Daniel but will you please just sing for me?" he nods and grabs his guitar and sits on his bed. he starts strumming the chords to 'when you're ready' by Shawn Mendes. you close your eyes and listen to the sound of the guitar and Daniels voice.
you wipe the tears from your eyes as the song comes to an end. "do you want to talk about it now?" he asks softly. you nod your head, take a deep breath and begin talking.
"a few months ago when we went to the beach and I felt something I had never felt before. I started to catch feelings for you really hard but I decided to keep it a secret so I wouldn't ruin our friendship. Tonight when you were talking I was thinking about how miserable I would be if I didn't have you by my side. I've been shoving these feelings down and I guess I just bursted. I know that you don't feel the same and you probably want to leave and I don't blame you. But I love you and that's the tea." You look down not wanting to see Daniels reaction.

I tried my best to keep it to myself but I just couldn't so I gushed all about you to the rest of the band and that's why you haven't met them yet, I was afraid that they would accidentally tell you that I was in love with you." He says.
"I should have done this a lot sooner but will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my girlfriend?" You nod excitedly.
"I would love to be your girlfriend Daniel James Seavey." You smile.
And the rest is history;)
