Chapter 2: The Unexpected Change

The next day, Richard continued on with his daily activities.

School, training and many others.

And just like any other day, he would skip at least one meal. But today, he was really hungry and tired.

Looking for something to eat, the boy unconsciously put his hand in his pocket and felt something.

He brought it out and saw the candy given by Nathan. "Well. I guess it's better than nothing," he said as he took out the candy and began to eat it.

Richard continued to walk around the academy as one of his daily duties as a class leader. It was pretty tiring and boring. As he continued to walk around the academy, he had seen one of his friends.

"Hey Nadine! How you doing?" he called out.

"Eh? Richard? Is that you?" Nadine asked while looking so surprised.

"Yeah. It's me. Why?" he said casually as he started to approach her.

"Uh. How do I put this.....

Ah! I know." Nadine said as she reached for her bag and grabbed a mirror. She handed it to Richard and the boy looked in the mirror and what a sight!

HE WAS A GIRL!!!

"I'm a girl! AM I GOING CRAZY?!" he shouted while looking at the mirror.

"Technically, no. Everything in Magic Academy is anything but normal." Nadine told him.

"Then why does my voice sound the same," Richard said as his  voice slowly started to change as well.

"Spoke too soon," Nadine giggled, "What happened anyway?" she asked curiously.

"I don't know. I was just eating....

THE CANDY!!

Ugh! Nathan's going to pay for this!" he said as he stormed off leaving Nadine alone.

Looking for Nathan hasn't been a very easy task. He was looking for hours and still hasn't come across him. Almost giving up, he decided to ask a girl who was nearby, a girl with a very familiar appearance.

"Have you seen Nathan anywhere?" he asked.

"It's me you dummy!" the girl replied in a very annoying tone.

"How could you be him then?" Richard asked as he crossed his arms.

"Well, Richard. How did you become a boy?" the girl grinned.

"So it is you!" Richard said in a very angry tone.

"Yeah, yeah. I became one too so were even. Anyway, call me Natalia for now. Have you seen Melvin?" he casually told the boy.

"Melvin? Who's Melvin?" Richard asked curiously.

"Oh. Melissa. He turned into a boy after eating the candy." Natalia winked at Richard.

"You made your girlfriend eat the candy too?!" the boy shouted.

"Yeah. Anyway we'll call you Rachel since you're a girl for a week. And it'll be weird to call you Richard." Natalia chuckled.

"Why you-?!" Rachel said as she almost strangled Natalia,

"Whoops. I think I see Melvin now! BYE!" Natalia said as she escaped before Rachel could strangle her.
