I Hate You, I Love You [Completed]

Chapter 23

3 and a Half Days Later

        We are about to be back at my parents house. We just pulled into the neighborhood. It's been a long drive back, but we survived it. Bryce and I took turns driving and taking care of the baby. We only stopped for one night to stay in a motel. Sebastian slept on the bed beside me. I made it to where I would not roll over on him and that he was safe. Plus, I kept waking up every so often to check on him. Bryce slept in the other bed. At least I hope that he slept, I think that he kept waking up just like me.

      During our trip back, Bryce called Xander and told him about the situation. Bryce said he was going to try and take as many days off as he could with the baby, but he would be running out of days soon. That's when I offered to watch Sebastian until I have to go back to work. I have about six days left of my vacation after today. I told Bryce that he could go back to work tomorrow if he really needed to.

       My parents house comes into view. It's very overcast outside. It looks like it is about to rain.  I love the rain. It always puts me in a giddy mood and I don't know why. It just does.

     I park my car in my parents driveway. It feels like forever since I've been home. This road trip has been such a life changing thing....especially for Bryce. And for me too. I no longer feel the hatred that I used to feel towards Bryce. It's a strange feeling not to hate him.

"We're home." I take my keys out of the ignition.

"Home..." Bryce whispers. He looks back at Sebastian. "He's sleeping." He informs me.

"Aww. He's such a cute baby." I smile. Over the past few days, I have come to the realization that Sebastian does look very much like Bryce. It's uncanny.

Bryce looks over at me and smiles. I smile back at him.

"Are you sure you want to spend the rest of your vacation watching him?" Sebastian fixes his gaze on me, intently.

I look right back at him. "I wouldn't want to do anything else."

Suddenly, the atmosphere changes. The air seems so thick. Our eyes are locked. It's like he can see inside of me and it's like I can see inside of him.  Then we are startled by a loud BANG.  We look away from each-other to see Xander standing beside Bryce's window. I get out of the car and so does Bryce. Xander and Bryce are sharing a bro hug while I get Sebastian out of the car. I grab his car seat and leave him in it. He looks so peaceful when he is sleeping.  I walk over to Xander and Bryce.

"There's my buddy!" Xander grins and bends down to look at the baby.

"Sssh. Don't wake him up." I scold him, with a grin.

We all walk towards the house. Bryce is going to stay the night tonight in Xander's room. I told him Sebastian could stay in my room while he sleeps. He decided to go ahead and go back to work tomorrow. He wants to save what days he has left in case he has to take off for Sebastian. I understand that completely.
