Lexi's POV
Harry and I sent off our third letter, after not getting any replies from Ron or Hermione. Why weren't they writing back to us?
It's Harry's birthday tomorrow, and I organised with everyone a special surprise party for Harry. It's going to be great! He'll wake up and walk downstairs like any normal day, but there will be streamers and cake and presents waiting for him. Everyone will somehow manage to fit in our small lounge room and we will cheer, "Happy Birthday, Harry!", when we see him.
He'll love it.
*The next day*
"Okay. The cake is ready, the streamers are set, everyone is here, the presents are on the table. We're ready. We just have to wait for him to wake up," I led the show, motioning for everyone to stay very still and quiet. A lot of the pack were stifling laughs. You could hear Harry walking across the bedroom floor. I was nearly bursting with excitement. Harry started walking down the stairs. I gave everyone a signal that I would count them in. Three...Two...One...
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HARRY!" Everyone cheered. Harry's head shot toward where we were standing, surprised and excited. I ran forward towards Harry and gave him a quick hug before leading him to the pile of presents which I motioned him to open. He received lots of gifts from everyone ranging from new clothes, to his own soccer ball.
Harry and I were running around the house with the soccer ball when we ended up in the spare bedroom. What suprised us was that an ugly elf-looking creature was standing on the bed.
"Who the hell are you?!" I just about shout.
"I'm Dobby the house-elf. I came her to tell you not to returns to Hogwarts."
"Why?" Harry and I asked in unison.
"Because you will be in mortal danger if you returns,"
"Okay..." I said as I turned back, holding Harry's arm. Dobby suddenly appeared in front of us.
"Please listen to Dobby. Don't returns to Hogwarts. I collects your letters from friends so you thinks they don't likes you."
"Wait, what?!" I focused on Dobby, angry.
"Oh, stupid Dobby. Dobby must punish self." Dobby started grabbing the lamp and hitting himself in the head.
"Dobby, stop! Where are the letters?"
"They are hiddens in your bedroom cupboards. Please, don't returns to Hogwarts"
"We're going to get our letters and then you will leave, deal?" Dobby just vanished, a sad but desperate look on his face. Harry and I ran upstairs to find our letters. Once we found them, we both went downstairs to read them in the lounge room where the cake was resting on the dining room table.
Suddenly, Dobby appeared around the corner, where only Harry and I could currently see him. He clicked his fingers and Harry's cake (which Emily made) rose into the air and floated. I followed after the cake while Harry ran towards Dobby. Suddenly, the cake stopped above Emily's head and dropped. I tried to catch it, but it splattered onto her head, just as Dad walked in.
"Alexandria Black!" My head spun towards Dad who looked furious at me. "Was this some prank of yours?"
"No, I swear I didn't do it, Dad! There was this stupid, house-elf called Dobby that did it." Emily looked just as furious as Dad did, while Dad was now looking at me like he thought I was mentally insane.
"It's true, sir!" Harry came in and defended me. Dad still looked unconvinced, but shrugged and walked out. Emily, on the other hand, made Harry and I clean the kitchen where the cake splattered, and bake a new cake, under her supervision. We finished around lunch when everyone started coming in to watch Harry blow out the candles. They saw the change of cake, but shrugged it off.
We all started singing Happy Birthday while Harry cringed at the amount of attention he was receiving. I hugged him while we sang and we started laughing.
A letter came as Mom walked in, carrying a letter. She handed it to Harry but it was addressed to both of us. Mom missed Harry blowing out the candles because she was going hunting, but she wished Harry a Happy Birthday when she passed him the card.
We opened it to find a very serious letter from the Ministry of Magic. They must've noticed when Dobby cast the spell, and they thought it was us. It said that if we ever do magic outside Hogwarts again, we will be immediately expelled. Harry and I looked at each other in shock, but composed ourselves as the celebrations continued.
