Lexi's POV

Suddenly, a bird call was heard, nearing us.

Fawkes. And he was carrying the sorting hat. Fawkes dropped the hat and Harry caught it, looking inside. It was empty.

"So, Dumbledore sends his stupid bird and a tattered old hat for his defenders." Tom chuckled. He still had my wand in his hand. Tom turned to the creepy face on the far wall and started speaking in Parseltongue. The mouth of the face started to open, a hissing heard from inside.

Oh shit.

The basilisk slithered out as Harry and I backed away.

"No matter what, don't look into it's eyes, okay?" I warned Harry as we backed away slowly.

"Run!" Harry yelled as we both darted back towards where we came in. Harry had grabbed my hand and was still holding it as he fell, bringing me down with him. I then realised the basilisk was still behind us and stayed still. Harry copied me and stayed very still until Fawkes returned, squawking. Fawkes attacked the basilisk's eyes, eventually managing to blind it.

I stood up slowly, while the basilisk was wailing, motioning for Harry to get up.

"Harry, get up!" I whispered. The basilisk stopped and looked straight at where we were standing. I grabbed Harry's arm and pulled him sideways, narrowly avoiding the basilisk.

Harry kept running towards a tunnel, me following him. Harry pulled in the a gap in the tunnel but I kept running, using my wolf speed as an advantage. I couldn't hear the basilisk moving anymore, so I looked behind me to see it stopped in front of where Harry was standing. I reached down and grabbed a rock at my feet. I threw it through the air and it knocked the basilisk on the head.

"Hey! You big, fat lizard! Over here!" I called turning to run, grabbing a rock as well.

There was a fork in the tunnel and I threw the rock down one tunnel, running down the other. Hopefully the lizard will fall for it. The basilisk stopped at my tunnel, but continued on the other tunnel. I ran out, meeting up with Tom again. Harry ran down  to me just as the basilisk burst through the ground, very pissed off.

Harry stopped at the sorting hat, drawing a sword out of the once-empty hat. The basilisk ran towards Harry after hearing the metal of the sword grazing against the ground.

"Harry! Basilisk!" I called out, checking if Ginny was still alive. She was barely breathing and was ice-cold. Harry was climbing the face at the end of the tunnel as the basilisk lunged at him multiple times, barely missing Harry. Once Harry reached the top, he swung the sword at the basilisk. I saw an opportunity to help Harry and I took it.

"Harry! Sword!" Harry threw the sword down to me, moving back to avoid the basilisk. I threw the sword like a javelin as hard as I could. It pierced the basilisk's head as it screamed and writhed before dying.

"No!" Tom yelled.

Harry climbed down quickly, running over to Ginny.

"It's amazing how quickly the venom of the basilisk penetrates the body, isn't it," I then saw that Harry was clutching his arm. I grabbed his hand, lifting it off his arm to reveal a bloody wound. Harry stumbled towards Ginny, grabbing the diary.

Harry stabbed the diary with the fang, Tom writhing in pain before disintegrating. Ginny shot awake, staring around in confusion.

"Ginny," She stared at me before turning to Harry. "It's okay. You're safe now. Follow the Chamber and meet Ron," She nodded and ran off. Harry collapsed on the ground, breathing startlingly shallow breaths. Now he was dying!

"No, Harry. No. Don't die. No! Harry! No!" I leaned over Harry as he stopped breathing. I lowered my lips to his, wanting to kiss him at least once. Tears were running down my face as I sat up. One of my tears slowly dropped onto Harry's arm, near his wound. "No, Harry..." I sobbed before kissing him again, one last time.

Suddenly, he started kissing me back, opening his eyes to meet my startled gaze.

"Harry! I thought you were dead!" I yelled, lauching myself at him, sqeezing him in a hug.

"I did too. How am I alive then?"

"I don't know." Harry's brows furrowed before he came up with an idea.

Harry had a small cut on his finger and he reached up to touch a loose tear running down my face. When his cut made contact with my tear, his cut healed perfectly. My eyes widened in surprise.

"Woah..." I mumbled. I pulled aside the torn fabric on Harry's arm to reveal Harry's wound had healed. It was still red and tender, but it had healed.

"Your tears have healing powers."

"That's wicked."

Harry leaned in and kissed me and I responded, kissing him back passionately.

"We better go..." I mumbled, breathlessly after we finished kissing.
