I don't want to leave with a bang

I want to leave softly, in your sleep, when your mind is at peace with your soul, and your soul is at peace with the world

I want to leave like a raft being slowly brought out to nowhere in particular in the ocean

I want to walk away with tired eyes but a satisfied smile

With worry lines etched into my face

But crinkles at the corners of my eyes from smiling too much

I want to leave empty of words

Stripped of guilt

With no thoughts to think

No more reasons to live

No more reasons to die

With a heart full of mended cracks and scar tissue

And flowers poking from underneath the cracks

I want to leave

Full of stories to tell to a later life.

I want to leave,

But I'll do it when I'm complete.
