It’s a hot summer day and like on every other sunny Saturday, the Warblers are outside playing sports. Today they are playing basketball, skin vs shirts. Nick is on the shirts’ team and Jeff on the skins’.
“Common Nick. Get your head in the game! Why are you so out of it today?” Thad asks.
“I don’t know man. I’m just tired. I’ll try to keep it together.” But Nick knows exactly why he is ‘so out of it’. Seeing the very attractive Jeff without a shirt on is not something Nick sees every day – even though he wouldn’t mind.
-
When the skins team wins again, Nick realises just how much Jeff is distracting him.
‘The way his muscles flex whenever he throws the ball. The way he frowns his eyebrows and sticks his tongue out, trying to concentrate when he throws the ball through the ring. The way his body is covered in a thin layer of sweat…’
“Hey Nick. How about you watch from the side this match,” Thad offers and Nick knows that that’s probably the best thing to do. He mumbles something in response before he sits down on the little wooden bench next to the basketball field. Nick watches every move Jeff makes, also when Jeff gets hit in the face when Blaine tries to hit the ball but misses.
“Oh my god. I’m so sorry!” Blaine squeaks.
“It’s okay,” Jeff chuckles a bit as he covers his face with his hand.
“Nick!” Blaine yells. “How about you walk with Jeff to his dorm and I don’t know, get him an ice pack or a wet towel or something.”
“Okay.” Jeff and Nick walk together to Jeff’s dorm.
-
“Just sit down on the bed and I’ll get you something.” Nick walks Jeff over to the bed and walks into the little bathroom connected to the dorm. He grabs a washing cloth and wets that before he goes back to Jeff. “Where do you want me to put it?”
“My lip,” Jeff says. Nick places the thin washing cloth over Jeff’s lips. He tries his best not to think of Jeff’s gorgeous beautiful plump lips underneath his fingertips.
“Blaine is so clumsy,” Nick chuckles. Jeff giggles softly and Nick feels the vibration through the thin fabric of the washing cloth, causing shivers to go down his spine.
“Can you looks at my lips to see if it looks bad?” Nick removes the washing cloth and looks at Jeff’s lips. They are a bit swollen and slightly more red than usual. “And?”
“It’s starting to look a bit better again,” Nick mumbles as his cheeks get a slight blush from staring at Jeff’s gorgeous lips. “You have… uhm… really nice lips.” The second after he said it he feels guilty. Jeff doesn’t say anything because he is too busy thinking, as the puzzle comes all together. The way Nick has been staring at him during basketball and why he was so out of it. The way Nick was acting different around him. In meanwhile Nick is thinking about what he just said. “I’m sorry. I’ll just get going, I guess.”
“No wait,” Jeff stops him by placing his hand on his knee. Nick’s cheeks have turned bright red by this point.
“Wha-” Nick starts but Jeff interrupts him by pressing his index finger against his lips.
“Don’t speak,” he says softly. He removes his finger from the dark haired boy’s lips. Jeff places one hand on Nick’s waist and his other hand on the back of his neck. Nick feels how his heart is skipping a few beats and he just lets it happen.
“I-” Nick tries again but his words are cut off by Jeff’s lips who softly crash onto his. Nick’s mind is racing so fast that he almost forgets to kiss him back. The kiss is light and tender, but nonetheless sweet and filed with passion. After about thirty seconds, Nick pulls away.
“I-” Jeff starts.
“Don’t speak,” Nick giggles softly before he carefully places his lips over Jeff’s once again – trying his best not to hurt the other boy.
