A/N:
Okay I officially suck at life. Yes this is a Christmas story, and no it's not Christmas anymore. I wanted to post this last night, but for some reason it just didn't happen... So here it is anyway. For those who celebrate it; I hope you had a great Christmas. And if you don't  celebrate Christmas; I just hope you had a great day.

“So are you looking forward to spend this Christmas with my family?” Sebastian asks with a little smile. He watches how Hunter walks through the room, looking for nice clothes to take with him when he’s going to meet Sebastian’s parents for the first time. They have been dating for about three months now, but they’ve not met each other’s parents yet.

“I’m looking forward to it, yes. But I’m scared that they might not like me,” Hunter admits.

“Off course they’ll like you. What’s there not to like?” Sebastian jokes, but he can tell that his boyfriend is genuinely nervous. That might be because Sebastian barely talks about them, apart from a few threats he makes every now and then to some freshmen about his dad being a state’s attorney. “I am serious, Hunt. You’re handsome, charming, talented… My parents will love you, I promise.”

Sebastian sees a little unsure look in Hunter’s eyes, but the only thing that comes from his mouth is: “Do you like the light blue dress shirt or do you prefer the cream coloured one?”

-

“Don’t be nervous,” Sebastian says one more time before he rings the bell of the front door. They’re standing in front of a massive manor house, not too far away from campus.

“I can’t believe why you don’t just live here instead of those tiny, smelly dorms at Dalton,” Hunter mumbles but before Sebastian can even respond, the door swings open.

“Hey boys.” A woman with shoulder-length light brown hair stands in the doorway, with a wide smile on her face. She looks exactly like Sebastian, with her high defined cheekbones and piercing green eyes. “You must be Hunter. Hi, I’m Sebastian’s mum.”

“Hello Mrs. Smythe. It’s lovely to meet you,” Hunter says politely.

“Oh sweetie you can just call me Amanda.” She guides the two boys inside the house. “Can I make the two of you something to eat?”

“No thanks mum, we’ll just go to the living room,” Sebastian says as he already pulls Hunter towards the room.

“Oh and dear, tell Hunter that I set the guestroom up for him, but if he wants to he can sleep in your room instead,” Mr. Smythe says to her son before they walk in the living room.

-

“I’m sorry about my mum,” Sebastian says with an awkward smile when they’re sitting on the couch. “She’s just really happy that I’m home for Christmas and she’s really glad that I asked you over. She told me the other day that you’re ‘a great influence’ on me, but I guess she is kind of right.” Ever since Hunter came into his life, he doesn’t go to Scandals that often anymore and barely drinks at all. “So what do you want? Do you want to sleep in the guestroom or in my bedroom?” he teases with a wink. Sebastian leans closer to his boyfriend, ready to press their lips together in a sweet kiss.

“Sebas?!” says a small voice just outside of the living room. Sebastian abruptly pulls away from Hunter. “Seb?” A little girl with piggy tails appears in the doorstep. “You’re home!” She runs over to the tall boy and practically launches herself on top of him. “I missed you so much,” she sighs as she presses her face into his neck while Sebastian hugs the girl tightly.

“I missed you too, princess,” Sebastian says softly. The girl pulls away from him and looks at Hunter, who has been looking at the entire thing with a dopey look on his face. “Oh, Amelia, this is Hunter.”

“Is this the boy you’re in love with?” Amelia whispers loudly to Sebastian. Who’s cheeks turn light pink. Sebastian nor Hunter have mentioned the word love yet. Sebastian knows for a fact that he has never used the word ‘love’ to describe how he feels about Hunter to Amelia either. But Sebastian has told her how amazing his boyfriend is, crazily talented and absolutely stunning, so he shouldn’t be surprised that she used that word. “Yes, Seb,” Amelia is the one to break the awkward silence. “You were right. He is indeed very hot.”

“Amelia. Can you come here for a second, honey?” Mrs. Smythe’s voice sounds from the kitchen. Amelia jumps from Sebastian’s lap and storms out of the room.

“I’m sorry about Amelia,” says a slightly embarrassed Sebastian. “She’s only five years old, but she likes to think she knows everything about everything.”

“No, she’s sweet. I like her,” Hunter smiles. He moves closer to Sebastian – again – and gently places his lips against his boyfriend’s. But before it even turns into a real kiss, there is another noise outside of the living room, which sounds a lot like a door slamming closed.

“Honey I’m home!” says a deep voice somewhere near the kitchen. Hunter backs away from his boyfriend slowly. Not much later a tall man appears in the doorway. “So you must be Hunter?” he says and there is a certain coldness to his voice which makes Hunter feel very self-conscious.

“Y-Yes. I’m Hunter, sir.” Hunter quickly jumps up and walks up to Mr. Smythe. He sticks his hand out for Mr. Smythe to shake.

“Mr. Smythe,” he says sharply but not necessarily unfriendly. He takes Hunter’s hand in his and gives him a firm handshake. “I believe your mum just said that dinner is almost ready,” Mr. Smythe says to Sebastian before he turns to walk away.

-

“So what do you think? Did you have a good Christmas eve?” Sebastian asks. They’re sitting in his bedroom, after dinner.

“It was good. I had fun,” Hunter says with a smile. They are lying next to each other on Sebastian’s king-size bed, staring at the ceiling. “Your mum is a sweetheart and Amelia is cute.”

“What about my dad? He can come off as a right douche some times.” Sebastian leans on his elbows to get a better look of his boyfriend.

“In the beginning I found him quite intimidating, but I get it. He is just being protective over you,” Hunter says. There is a short silence.

“You are the first boy I ever brought home,” Sebastian admits. Hunter’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise. “And Amelia kind of stole this line from me,” Sebastian continues. “But I do love you, Hunter.” He carefully presses their lips together.

“I love you too, Sebastian,” Hunter mumbles against his lips. “Merry Christmas.”
