I woke up the next morning. It was Saturday. I figured Peter was still asleep or just left already. When I got into the kitchen, I saw the opposite of what I expected. Peter was standing by the counter making pancakes.
"What are you doing?" I asked as he attempted to flip one of the pancakes.
"Making breakfast. It's the least I can do." He replied as he put two pancakes on a plate and gave them to me. I put a little bit of butter and syrup on them and they tasted amazing.
"You never told me you could cook." I said smiling and stuffing another bite of pancake in my mouth.
"You never asked." He teased, smiling. That smile lights up a room. His caramel eyes make me melt. I didn't stop staring at him until I realized we were making eye contact...and he was smiling too!

I ended up going back to the base after Peter left. There, I found my dad. He was sitting on the couch with his hands against his mouth, as if he were praying.
"Dad?" He looked startled as he looked up.
"There you are. I've been worried sick." He said pulling me into a tight hug.
"What's wrong Dad?" He pulled away.
"I don't want you hanging out out with that Peter kid."
"What?! Why not?!" I yelled.
"It's just not safe."
"What do you mean it's not safe?"
"I'm sorry but I can't tell you-"
"Why is everything like that?!" I continued to yell.

"What do you mean?"
"Every time I have to give something up, you don't tell me why. It's just gone and there isn't anything I can do about it." At this point, I was crying. "And I'm not about to lose Peter too." I said. I ran off into my room. Slamming the door behind me. After a long cry into my pillow, I changed into my workout clothes. My room had a secret training room. It's usually where Natasha, or Nat, and I like to train. Sometimes Wanda will come here but it's rare.
I took out my boxing gloves and put out a punching bag.

One punch

Two punch

Three punch

Four punch

Just as I was about to punch again, I heard a voice. "Hey Chloe." I turned to see Natasha.
"Hey Nat." I said with a fake smile.
"You wanna talk?"
"Not really."
"Well to bad. We're talking anyway." She responded. I stopped punching my punching bag and began to take off my gloves.
"What is there to talk about? My dad is being over protective as always." I said as I started to put everything away.
"He has a good reason for protecting you."
"And I know that he's trying to keep me safe. It's what everyone says. But how come it's as soon as I bring up a boy, he says no?"
"Well this one, you can't date."
"Why not?" I asked crossing my arms.
"I can't tell you that." I began to shake my head.
"Why does everyone keep saying that? I don't know and to be kept in the dark!"
"We're doing this to protect you-"
"Yeah! I know! Why is everyone trying to protect me? I can't take care of myself!"
"Chloe-"
"Get out." I said pointing to the door.
"But-"
"Get out! Go!" Nat turned and walked out of my room.

~Peter's POV~
Mr. Stark instructed me to go to the Avengers base for some extra training. When I got there, I was in my suit. I knocked on the door and Mr. Stark opened it.
"Kid? Why are you over hear. I gave you specific instructions to do to the east wing."
"Oh sorry Mr. Stark. It's my first time here and-"
"Tony. She won't come out of her room. She really wants to date P-... oh sorry." A girl who I remember as Black Widow.
"I don't think you have formally met, Natasha this is Peter." Mr. Stark said. I shook Natasha's hand then made my way over to the east wing with Mr. Stark.

Our training was hard today. He gave me a few new upgrades so it was almost brand new.
"I'm done Mr. Stark. Can we take a brake?" I asked panting.
"Fine." He said rolling his eyes. Suddenly, the door opened. In came a man with darker skin. I'm pretty sure I know him.
"Hey Tony. I brought some snacks if you want any."
"Oh thanks Rhodey. Oh this is Peter by the way. Peter this is James Rhodes."
"Nice to meet you sir." I said shaking his hand. Rhodey took a seat at the table Mr. Stark and I were at.

"Hey Kid." Mr. Stark started. "You seem off today. You okay?"
"Yeah...yeah. I'm fine."
"No he's not. I know you're lying." Rhodey interrupted.
"If it's the new upgrades, we can work on those."
"No Mr. Stark. The upgrades are fine."
"Then what's wrong."
"Umm...well...there's this girl." I started.
"Why is it always a girl?" Rhodey said as he leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms.
"And I really like her. I want to ask her out. I've liked her since middle school and I think she might like me back."

"What's her name kid?" Mr. Stark asked.
"Her name is Chloe Day. She's really kind, smart, funny, and really, really beautiful."
"You can't date her." Mr. Stark said. I look at him with wide eyes.
"But Mr. Stark. She helped me yesterday when I was hurt."
"She did what?"
"Yesterday, I went to school after the mission and I was hurt so she brought me to her apartment and helped clean me up."
"Just listen to Tony. She's not one you should date." Rhodey said.
"I just met you. You have no say in this." I said pointing right at him. "Why can't I date her?" I continued.
"I can't tell you."
"Why not?"
"I just can't Kid."
"Stop treating me like a kid. Tell me Mr. Stark!"
"Today's training is over. Go home." Mr. Stark said. Him and Rhodey left and I was all alone. I pulled out my phone.

{Me: Meet me at the Cafe on Elm and Main.}
[Chloe: Okay. What time?]
{Me: Now}
[Chloe: Alright. See you there.]

I don't care what Mr. Stark says. He's not my dad and he has no right to tell me who I can and can't date.
