~Chloe's POV~
Peter told me to meet him at the cafe. I found a seat and waited for a minute or so. I heard the bell on the door and turned to see Peter with a goofy grin.
"Hey Chloe."
"Hey Peter." He walked over and took the seat across from me.
"Do you want anything?" I asked.
"Oh I'll just take a blueberry muffin." I walked over to the line and looked back at Peter. He was talking to himself. Not in a weird way but in a nervous way. He ran his hand through his hair as he tapped his foot. I think he is as nervous as I am. If not more.
I walked back over with our things. "Thanks." He said."No problem. So Peter? Why did you want to meet up today?" He hesitated for a moment then smiled.
"Umm. So...Chloe." He started. He grabbed my hand from across the table with both of his.
"I know that this might come off as weird but I've liked you for a long time. I really want to ask you to be my girlfriend and I-"
"Yes Peter."
"I've been so nervous around you and my heart beats a million times faster.-"
"Yes Peter."
"You one of the most beautiful, smartest, kind and-"
"Peter!" I said laughing.
"What's so funny?" He said smiling.
"You Peter."
"What?"
"I keep trying to say yes Peter but you keep talking." He looked at me with wide, happy eyes.
"Really?"
"Yes really!" He sighed in relief.
"Oh thank god! I thought this was going to be really awkward." Peter said making me laugh again.
"Why don't we get out of here Chloe. We can go to the carnival downtown."
"That sounds amazing." I responded. We walked out of the cafe hand in hand.~~~~
We had only been at the carnival for three hours and we had already rode almost every ride. As we got off the last one, I came off with my balance not as good as it should be. I began to fall when Peter caught me.
"How are you not dizzy?" I asked.
"Oh I am. I just have a better way of hiding it." He smiled. We took a seat at a table and got some ice cream."I think this has been the best day of my life."
"Well I'm glad I make you happy Chloe." He said smiling.
"So Peter."
"Yeah?"
"Now that we are boyfriend and girlfriend, I have one rule."
"And what would that be?" I hesitated for a moment. "We have to keep our relationship a secret." He looked heartbroken. I grabbed his hand. "Just for a little while. Just until my dad is okay with it."
"And what if he's not?" He asked.
"Then he'll just have to except it." I said smiling. Peter put his hand down blushing. It was sweet. After we finished eating, we began to walk out of the carnival. "I'm bummed it's over. I didn't want it to end." I said as Peter put his arm around my waist.
"Who says it has to be?" He hinted and I could help but figure he had that goofy grin on his face.
"And what would you happen to have in mind?" I asked.
"Well...I saw an ice skating rink we could go to."
"I would love to." We walked about a mile to the ice skating rink. We laughed and joked the entire way.
We got our skates and began to put them on.
"Hey Peter?"
"Yep?"
"I'm not the best at ice skating so don't laugh."
"Don't worry. You'll be the one who'll have to keep me up right."We balanced ourselves until we got to the rink. Then I was off. I ended up doing a full loop before finding Peter again. He was still by the entrance holding onto the wall. I couldn't help but chuckle as I skated over to him.
"Peter?" I said still laughing.
"Whoa!" I must have startled him because the next second, he was on the ice. "Ouch." I put my hands out and pulled him up.
"Looks like I am the one who has to keep you up right." I teased. He kept his arm around my waist almost the entire time we skated. It was nice. After our hour was up, we began to walk down the street."Do you want me to take you home?" Peter asked.
"No I think I'm alright. I'll just call a taxi."
"Alright. I'll see you at school love."
"See you then." I gave him a kiss on the cheek then walked across the street. I waited until Happy came to pick me up.
"Hey kid. How are you?" He asked.
"Good." I said trying to hide a smile.
"Where were you today? Your dad is worried. To be honest, the whole team is worried. You were mad and then just kind of ran off."
"Yeah well, I'm fine." I responded. I hacked into FRIDAY and turned off my tracker. I know right?! My dad tracks me. He says I'm just like him so he doesn't want me getting into trouble.
He shouldn't have taught me how to hack.We arrived at the base and I knew it wasn't going to have a happy welcome. I opened the front door and saw Dad, Steve, Natasha, Rhodey, and Thor sitting in the living room. They all looked up when I opened the door.
"Oh thank god. We were worried sick." My dad said as he pulled me into a tight hug.
"Geez. I turn off my tracker once and everyone thinks I died." I said sarcastically.
"Don't do that again Chloe. You had us all worried. We don't need you getting into trouble." Steve said.
"I don't need you guys to protect me." I said. I stormed to my room and slammed the door behind me.I turned on the TV and turned on Full House. It's a show my dad and I used to watch together before he became obsessed with work. There was a knock on my door.
"Come in." In walked Nat. "Before you say anything, I'm fine." I continued as she shut the door and came over to sit on my bed. She sat across from me.
"I need you to be honest with me right now Chloe."
"Why should I? You're just going to tell my dad anyways." She shook her head.
"No. No I won't. Us girls have to stick together." I looked up at her. "So, can you tell me something?"
"What do you want to know?"
"Did you go out with that Peter kid?" I looked back down at my lap.
"Maybe." I mumbled. "Yes." Nat shook her head. "You know your dad said you can't be with him.""I know but he isn't giving me a reason I can't be. He's just saying no with no explanation." Nat nodded. "I understand Chloe but sometimes you have to listen to your dad."
I shook my head and placed me head back onto my head bored.
"I guess you're going to tell my dad huh?" Nat shook her head before speaking.
"Your secret is safe with me. But you have to tell him eventually." She said as she turned to leave.
"Hey Nat?"
"Yeah Chloe?"
"Thank you." I said smiling. She smiled back then left.
I'll tell my dad eventually. But not yet.
