~Chloe's POV~
Every morning, I wake up to Peter, laying next to me. My vision is sometimes blurry since I've been crying so much. The only people I've seen have been Peter, Dad, Nat, Bruce, and the doctors. I haven't seen any of the other Avengers and I've been awake for two weeks. I haven't even seen my friends. For all they know, I'm still asleep, in a coma.
I've become quite concerned for Peter. He's been skipping classes to come and visit and has been leaving his Aunt May alone. I tell him every day that he needs to do his own thing but he insists hay he stay with me."Go home Peter." I said sighing. "I think I'll be alright for one day. Besides, I have the whole team of Avengers to help if needed. That's if my dad would actually let them come in." Peter had a quick laugh before grabbing my arm which was now out of a sling. He began to rub circles on the back of my hand with his thumb.
"Are you sure? I really don't mind staying. And the teachers know why I'm out."
"I'm sure Peter. I'm sure Ned is worried sick." I said as we both cracked smiles.
"Fine I'll go but promise me one thing."
"And what would that be?"
"That you'll tell me you love me." I began to smile.
"I love to Peter Parker."
"I love you too Chloe Stark." He said giving me a kiss on the lips. We were deep in the moment before interrupted but a cough. We stopped and saw my dad.
"I'm sorry Mr. Stark." Peter apologized as he began to walk out.
"It's alright Kid."
"My Aunt May needs me to stay home for the weekend so I won't be here for a few days."
"That's okay. We'll just call you if something happens." Peter nodded and walked out.
"How are you?" He asked.
"I'm well. I do wish I could see the rest of the Avengers." He pondered for a moment.
"I don't want to do that only because I feel you might be embarrassed or your feelings might get the best of you." I nodded knowing he was right."Can I at least talk to Cap? I miss him."
"Sure. Why not. He's on a mission but you can talk to him tomorrow."
"Thanks dad. Love you."
"Love you too." He fave me a kiss on the forehead then left the room. I turned on the TV and watched a few movies before falling asleep.~~~~~~~
I woke up the next morning, alone. I didn't really feel right. I mean, I've been feeling different ever since I woke up but today was different. I laid there, with the TV on, rewatching shows. That's when I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in." I answered. My dad stood in the doorway.
"Are you up to talk to Cap? I know you wanted to."
"Yes please." He nodded then walked down the hall. Not even a minute later, Steve came through.
"Hey Chloe. You're doing." I sighed.
"I'm getting there." I said. He took a seat on my right side.
"Well Kid. From what I heard, you are pretty tough. You can get through anything."
"Thanks Steve. It's just, sometimes I feel helpless. Like now. I can't train, or help with missions, or anything. I'm stuck here. It's like I'm glued to this bed." Steve looked and me and smiled. "I don't think you'll be stuck here much longer. With what your Dad and Bruce are making, I think this situation will be much better."I couldn't help but giggle at his comment. "You know Steve... I think you might be my favorite Avenger."
"Oh really? And why's that?" I looked over at the TV as I spoke.
"Because you're kind, smart, funny, and you always look for the good in people. Even if they aren't at there bes-" I stopped talking. I could feel my body starting to shake.
"Are you alright Chloe? Should I get your dad?" Steve asked as he stood up. I nodded as a bolt of pain shot through my spine and I let out a scream.
"Tony!" Steve yelled. He didn't leave my side.
"Tony!" He yelled again. He shook his head in realization. "Shit. They're training." I took a deep breath and spoke. "T-there's a-a button." I used my strength and pointed to the button in the wall. He ran over and slammed on at. I screamed again. He ran back over to me and began to run his hand along my forehead.
"It's okay. It's going to be okay." He cried. I suddenly heard several pairs of feet running down the hall.
"What the hell!" My Dad yelled with fear. He let Bruce in but told everyone else to leave.
"Should we let Peter know?" Nat asked.
"No. Not now." My dad said assuringly as I let out another scream.
