"I'm sure you must be confused as of now. Please, take a seat, I'll explain what is going on right now," Aditya smiled but it wasn't comforting in the slightest.

"He's the only guy who got off alive. He was there when my father was killed, along with three others," Aryan's glare didn't waver. "Well, we couldn't have any competition, could we?" He said.

We were all sitting in a fairly large trailer, facing Aditya who sat in front of us and behind him on the mall was a large map with different areas marked.

"It's a long story, but I'll spare you the details. To be honest, I didn't need you, Nyx. To me you are completely useless. But someone I did need is Nicole, and she agreed to help if she could have you involved. We got you to kill Bert's parents to cut our competition.

"That fight you overheard between Bert and a drunk man? The one with his dear little siblings crying? Staged. Nicole knew you wouldn't leave children in potential danger, you're too kind, so you went over there. As you were supposed to,"

"How did you know? That she would kill Harry, if that even was his name?" Bert's grip on my hand was slowly getting tighter, as was mine on his.

"We didn't. But either way, a small price to pay for eventual success," Aditya shrugged. "We really just needed Bert, Chloe and Aryan. You and Anna weren't necessary, and still aren't," two men walked in, guns aiming at us.

"Which is why you're going to kill us," I realised and said out loud. "It's obvious. Like I said, a small price to pay for success," Aditya shrugged.

"You can't. None of us will help you if you do, with whatever you need," Aryan said. "Oh don't worry, I'll make sure you do. But you've got me thinking now," Aditya slowed down. "We did make a deal, I get to kill Nyx. Let's make it more fun. Let's keep them alive. After all when they die, it'll make it more fun for everyone later, won't it?" Nicole's blood red lips pulled into a menacing smirk.

"Fine then. Nyx and Anna stay alive. For now," Aditya added. Bert's grip on my hand loosened but was still firm.
"What do you need us for?" Chloe asked, and I saw how her and Anna were holding hands and sitting extremely close to each other, Anna's thumb rubbing the back of Chloe's hand.

"Kuldhara, is a dead city, as you must know. People settled down here by early thirteenth century and abandoned this place in the nineteenth century. It was inhabited by Brahmins-" "Brahmins?" I cut him off and his nose flared.

"They were a group or caste of people considered superior. Anyway, on records the reason for Kuldhara remains unknown but there is a rumour as to what happened. There was a man, named Salim Singh, who in simple terms was the guy in charge of the village. He was famous for his gruesome methods of tax collecting," "But isn't that just a myth?" Aryan asked.

"No. Your father and Bert's parents knew better. Which is why they ended up dead. Salim Singh was infatuated by a common girl who happened to be the daughter of one of the village chiefs. He went to great lengths to get her. Fearing his ways, most of the people ran away and as of now, no one knows who or where the village's old inhabitants are," He paused and waited for Nicole to continue.

"What they didn't know was that Salim Singh had a dagger made. He wanted to gift it to the girl to try and win her hand. When he saw that no one was left in his village, he went insane. He hunted down almost every villager that left and got them killed, as a punishment for abandoning him. When he found the girl-" "She refused to marry him?" I tried.

"Yeah, exactly," Aditya nodded. "And in a fit of rage, Salim killed the girl with the same damn dagger. When he came to his senses, he got the body buried with the dagger placed in her fist before killing himself by jumping off a cliff," Aditya ended and we all tried to take in this tale.

"So you need us to find the dagger?" Chloe asked and Nicole simply nodded. "Why us? You killed our parents who knew about this, so why us?" Bert asked. Aditya walked over to Aryan and snatched the pendant he wore. Aryan groaned and clutched his throat while glaring at Aditya.

"You two have one like this," He nodded to Bert and Chloe who reached in there pockets to pull out a pendant that looked exactly like the one Aditya held in his hand.

Aditya grinned at the sight. "The only people who know or will know how to use these is you three. But there is a fourth part, and that is what we need to find. Or well, I need to. But until then, you come with us. For your safety, of course," Aditya added. \

"Right, safety," I trailed off while keeping my eyes on the two pieces of shit standing in front of me.

"Well, my men will show you out. And try not kill anyone this time. Wouldn't want any funerals for you, would we?"
