Run for the Shadows: Bloody Memories (VOL. 1)

Ch 14.

        Akio starts kissing my neck and then his fangs pierce into my flesh. I whimper. As he drinks, blood trails from my neck and into the bath, turning the water into a light pink, then a light red. ''S-stop! Y-you're killing her!'' The brunette girl says, but he just laughs and bites down harder. I groan as I feel my life energy being finally drained from my body. He grips my shoulders and my arms grow weak. The room starts spinning and my whole body feels numb. My hands fall inside the tub and my legs slowly slide down. ''She's d-dying! Stop!'' Someone says. The pain in my neck seems to go away, but I can't move. I blink and look to see a tall angelic guy with purple hair and piercing purple eyes hovering over me. Shinku! My head drops, my eyes go to the back of my head, and I black out.

     The stars glimmer perfectly in the night sky and a bright full moon glows down on us. I look down at my black flowing dress, Shinku lifts off the veil and then I look at Kuro, he smiles. Shinku takes his hand in mine. ''Shinku, Shinku, Shi-.'' I keep repeating his name, but he puts his finger against my lips. ''It's all going to be okay now.'' He says. ''I'm here and we'll be together for all of eternity.'' He leans in, puts the ring on my finger and kisses me so passionately. 

     I quickly wake up feeling a hand on mine and I let out a startled whimper. ''Please don't, I can't give anymore!'' I scream and I press my eyes close. ''Hana, it's just me!'' I hear a familiar voice. I open my eyes and look to see my beloved Shinku. He's so amazingly gorgeous in his black buttoned shirt. My heart flutters and I gasp and look around. It's the mansion! The mansion I was at with Shinku! I'm in the same room, the same bed, the same everything! ''Am I dreaming?'' I ask, my head falling back down as I pass out once again.

     I wake up and see Shinku again. ''It's really you!'' I jump out of bed and throw my arms around his neck. ''I thought I was never going to see you ever again! I thought that you wouldn't come back for me!'' I say crying happy tears. ''Hana, of course I would come back to you! But one thing...'' He says and I stop. ''Yes?'' He smirks and grabs a blanket off of the bed. ''Hana you're naked.'' He says wrapping it around me and my face gets hot. He carries me into the bathroom even though I told him I'd rather walk. ''You're so very weak right now. You need to do as less as possible to regain your energy.'' He said, so I let him carry me. He sits me down on the large sink and turns on the water. I turn my head looking at my reflection. I look HORRIBLE! My skin is so pale and fragile looking, my eyes are bloodshot, and I look thin. I turn and look at the bite marks. They look like they've been attempted to be clean. Four large holes, swollen, puffy, and red, seem to glow on my skin. I run my fingers over them and the numbness of throbbing pain makes me stop. My hair is red on the ends and half is light pink from the stained water. I put my hands over my face and look down in disgust. How could he find this attractive? I feel someone hovering over me and I look up to see Shinku smiling. ''You're beautiful Hana. Don't ever doubt that.'' He tells me and I smile as my face gets hot. 

     He walks me over to the tub, I give him my towel, and I walk into the perfectly warm bath. He takes a body sponge and dips it into the clean water, putting soap on it. The soap smells like sweet vanilla. ''It smells so good.'' I tell him as he washes my back. ''Yes, Kuro told me that it was your favorite.'' He says and I smile, shocked. ''Is he here?'' I ask, hopeful. ''Yes, he is waiting.'' I am so happy to see him. ''How many vampires?'' He asks touching my bite. I look down my body to see bruises everywhere and I gasp. ''Only three.'' I say and he frowns. ''Only three?! Do you know how close you were to dying?! It pained me to see you lying in that bathtub with blood draining from your neck. It turned the water red! I had to kill that vampire. Afterwards I lifted you out of the tub and carried you home. Kuro told me what had happened and I helped him get you back.'' He says, his voice getting excited. He pours water on my head and puts shampoo in my hair. His hands massage through my hair and I am overwhelmed with calmness. He is so gentle. I look up at him and smile. He's so good, so perfect. I think of all the reasons why I love him, he smiles back. 

     ''So, what did they do to you?'' He asks me, his voice quiet. I look up at him and force a smile. I tell him everything, from the time I heard their noises, to the time that I was rescued. I make sure to tell him every detail, but I don't go into too much detail when I tell him about me changing into a vampire and biting Akio or me kissing Akio. He listens to everything. ''I can't believe they're that careless. All of the vampires!'' He says through gritted teeth. I can tell that he is getting angry. I put my hand on his face and lean in, kissing him. How I've longed to do this even just once more.
