Run for the Shadows: Bloody Memories (VOL. 1)

Ch 15.

     ''I can't believe they're that careless. All of the vampires!'' He says through gritted teeth. I can tell that he is getting angry. I put my hand on his face and lean in, kissing him. How I've longed to do this even just once more. He kisses me back, like he's ached to do it again too. ''W-we mustn't keep Kuro waiting.'' I say and he stops. ''Alright, alright.'' He replies.

     I walk down the stairs wearing nice pajamas that Shinku gave to me. He dried my hair and brushed it, everything. He's so amazing, I've missed him so much. ''Thank you, for everything. This was so sweet.'' I say smiling and looking up at him. He smiles back and gives my hand a squeeze. ''Anything for you, my darling butterfly.'' I approach Kuro and he throws his arms around me, giving me a big hug. ''Kuro, I can't breathe.'' I say and he quickly stops. ''I'm so sorry I didn't save you sooner!'' He says. ''I'm alive and that's all that matters.'' 

     ''You must be starving!'' He says and I nod. ''I'll make her something good, but you need to spend time with her now.'' Shinku says kissing me on the head and then going towards the kitchen. ''You're so thin.'' Kuro says looking at me. ''I heard everything that happened on the phone. I'm so sorry I couldn't save you.'' Kuro adds and I hug him. I tell Kuro what I told Shinku about everything and once I'm finished, Shinku comes back with sushi and soup. ''This looks amazing, thank you so much!'' I say and he sits down next to me in a chair. ''You're very welcome.'' I start to eat the food quickly. ''Slow down, you'll get sick!'' Kuro warns me and I stop and do what he says. Once I finish, Shinku takes away my empty plate. ''What now?'' I ask Kuro and he looks at me. ''What do you mean?'' He replies. ''What now, with you and Shinku?'' He looks at me. ''He's alright.'' He replies.

      ''Hana, I have a gift for you.'' Kuro tells me suddenly getting up and disappearing into another room. He comes back with a black box wrapped in a soft velvet violet bow. I gasp and slowly take it from his hands. ''It's beautiful.'' I say to myself. ''Hana, the present is not the box, it's inside.'' He says and I hear Shinku laugh. I open the box and inside lays a black dress. I put my hand over my mouth in awe. ''Thank you so much Kuro!'' I say giving him a big hug. ''Hana, I can't breathe.'' He gasps. I let go of him and we start laughing. 

     .       .       .       .  

       (Kuro left to go home 1 week ago to try and clean up the place a bit more and meanwhile I am with Shinku in his great mansion.) 

       ''The stars are so beautiful.'' I say and Shinku nods. ''Yes.'' He replies. I look over at him and smile as he stands with me looking at all of the stars, his hand intertwined with mine, his dark violet hair blowing in the direction from the wind showing his pale face, and his matching dark violet eyes falling down to look at me. I wear the long black flowing dress Kuro gave to me. ''Hana.'' I look up at Shinku and he magically brings up a beautiful blood rose. I smile and let him pin it in my hair. We slowly lean in and kiss. His lips so soft and his hands lightly touching my face.

        This night was just as imagined once before. The first day that I had ever met Shinku. And the first day that I had ever seen his large mysterious mansion. This night was a dream come true. I still have more things to figure out. Who is Kuro really? What do the vampires want with my family? And what happens next? I am so relieved to be home again, but how did Kuro come to like Shinku so well? Everything that has happened and is happening isn't piecing together very well and I am still confused. Everything is happening so quickly and it seems like I am getting nowhere with discovering the secrets my family has.

More dreams await, more secrets to unravel, and more mysteries are yet to be solved....
