''Well, what now?'' He asks. ''She needs to regain energy... eat, sleep, and as much walking as possible.'' He replies and Kuro nods. ''Here drink this'' Kuro says handing me a bottle filled with a blue substance. I nod and take it. I open the bottle and press it against my lips. Shinku stares at the blue goo. I drink it and it tastes, horrible! ''Eww!'' I say and they both laugh. ''What was that?!'' Kuro asks frowning so hard that you would have thought his face would have frozen in place. ''Something that will help her regain energy sooner.'' He replies and Kuro stops frowning and looks at me again.
''I need to make sure she is alright. Would you mind if I take her to my house?'' Shinku asks and I look down. ''No!'' Kuro says frowning. ''I don't know what your plans are, but I do know that you aren't a good person who's up to no good. You're a devil! And I will not let her be with you!'' He replies in a harsh tone and my heart drops. ''Kuro, you don't understand! Look at what he's done for me!'' I say grabbing onto Kuro's shirt sleeve. ''He might have helped, but not for your benefit.'' Kuro replies and I look over at Shinku with sad eyes. Kuro just doesn't understand. I love Shinku and he is helping me. ''What if, you come too?'' I ask softly. ''I have no desire in going to his home. I don't need his help and he means nothing to you.'' Kuro says and I frown.
''Yes he does.'' I mumble and both Shinku and Kuro look at me. ''What?'' Kuro asks and I look up at him. ''Yes, Shinku DOES mean something to me.'' I say and he stands there in shock. He then looks over at Shinku and frowns. ''Leave and never come back. I don't ever want to see your devil face again. This is the LAST time you will see Hana.'' Kuro tells Shinku and I feel tears come to my eyes. ''Kuro, please, please. Kuro don't do this!'' I plead to him and he shakes his head. ''Hana, I am doing this to keep you safe. Safe from him.'' He replies and I look over at Shinku.
''You helped her and now I want you to leave.'' Kuro says and Shinku walks slowly towards the door. I wait until he touches the knob and then I try to rush over to him, but I fall. Shinku and Kuro quickly rush over towards me, but Shinku stops as he sees Kuro carefully helping me up. ''Are you alright?'' Kuro asks and I smile. ''Yes, thank you.'' I say and then I look back over at Shinku who is walking out the door. I rush over to him before he gets to the stairs. ''Shinku!'' I yell and he stops. ''Hana. We can't be together anymore.'' He says and my heart drops. ''Shinku! Is it true?'' I ask him and he looks down. ''Is it true that you're not helping me for my benefit?'' I ask him and he frowns. ''Hana, we CANT be together anymore.'' He repeats and tears fall down my face. And I walk closer to him, now only a foot away from him.
''I am an actual person, with actual feelings.'' I tell him and he takes my hands in his. ''I have to go.'' He says touching my face with his finger. I close my eyes as more tears fly down my face. ''Don't cry.'' He says and I nod. He then leans in and kisses me once more, I savor every moment knowing this may be my last and Kuro gasps looking perturbed and shocked. Shinku stops and looks over at Kuro, who is staring at us. They both look down and my heart drops even more.
''Give me my phone number.'' Shinku tells me and I look up at him. ''Do it.'' He says with an edgy tone and I walk slowly to my room grabbing the number from my bag. Then I walk into the living room where Shinku is standing. I look at his beautiful hair and dreamy eyes. He grabs it and looks at it. I watch as it burns from his flame, disappearing from his hand and he painfully looks away, turning around, and leaving the house. I just stand there...hurt. ''Hana, I'm sorry.'' Kuro says walking up to me. I turn away and look towards the door. He lightly touches my back and I still just stand there.
''You need to eat.'' He tells me and I nod. He walks me over to the table and pulls out a chair. ''I'll heat up the food.'' He tells me grabbing the plates and going into the kitchen. The thought of me never seeing Shinku again crosses my mind. Won't I see him at school? Doesn't he love me? And why does Kuro really hate him? I need to find out! Kuro comes back and hands me my plate. We eat in silence and I feel a little insecure knowing that he isn't really my brother. ''Are you mad? Or upset?'' He asks finally breaking the silence. ''No...'' I lie. I was more upset than mad. I was upset that Kuro had made Shinku leave. And for what exact reason? I was also upset that I knew nothing about myself - or anything! Everyone was keeping secrets from me. How many more are there?
Kuro wont tell me anything more and now I don't know who to trust...Kuro? Shinku? I feel that I have known Shinku forever, but yet I have only known him for 3 days. I feel the opposite way with Kuro though. I HAVE known him forever, but yet I feel like I have just met a new friend and Kuro knows me so well. ''You're lying!'' He replies putting down his fork and I frown. ''How could I NOT be upset Kuro?'' I say looking into his now painful eyes.
