And once again,
her mind becomes a ship
trapped in a chaotic thunderstorm,
in the middle of the sea.

The same thunderstorm of overwhelming emotions and shattered thoughts,
the same bleak sea that tried to drown her many, many times before.

She tries desperately to keep her ship afloat.
She even learned a few tricks since last time.

She raises the volume to her favourite song,
Trying to cover up the sound of clapping thunder.

She tries to paint her favourite memory on canvas,
only for it to be washed away by the falling rain.

And little by little, her strength fades,
leaving behind crippling fear and confusion.

And with a final wrecking wave,
her ship breaks into splinters,
flying everywhere.

The splinters end up against her wrists,
and she drowns deeper and deeper,
never to float again.
