Hey! Sorry this is a bit later than usual. But WOW over 200 reads! I know it's not a lot in the Wattpad world but thank you so much! BTW I'm on vacation for the next week and a half so Chapter 6 won't be out until next Wednesday or Thursday! Sorry! xx Elissa
*Still Skip's Point of View*
Maybe I should just leave, it's been 8 hours here in the hospital and Sara's still in a coma. Wallace left, thank God. I think he was pissing Beau off too, asking us if we needed anything. Beau's been sleeping for a while, but the only person I can think about is Hailey, and how she died in the exact room Sara's in right now. My sister died in there. Plus, if Sara ever wakes up, I bet the only person she'll wanna talk to is Beau...
"Boys?" A nurse came out of the wretched swinging doors.
Beau was still sleeping, so I chose not to wake him up. I walked over to her, "Is Sara okay?" I asked, praying her response would be good.
"We're not getting any responses from her right now, and we won't be for a while. It will be at least another week until she wakes up. I'm sorry, but you two have to go." The nurse left quickly with a nod.
I called James, who said he'd be over in 15 minutes.
I sighed, walking over to Beau, who still looked worried in his sleep. "Hey, Beau, wake up!" He mumbled drowsily and ignored me. "C'mon Beau, the nurse just came and told me how Sara was doing." His eyes shot open.
"Is she awake?" he asked, excited.
"No, er sorry. The nurse told us we have to go. She said Sara will wake up in a week at the earliest. James, Jai, and Luke are coming to pick us up."
We walked outside, waiting for the boys. "So you and Sara are a thing?" I asked, trying not to sound like I'm trying to get with her.
"I wish." Beau said sleepily. He sounded like he had just woken up from a surgery that needed laughing gas; he was really out of it. "The second she wakes up, I'm gonna kiss her like she's never been kissed!" Ouch, that hurt a little. I guess Beau didn't figure out that I liked Sara...
"Hop in guys, give me an update on Sar!" we heard James as he pulled up.
*Beau's Point of View*
"James, just pull over." I complained. "Get me some coffee, I'm absolutely exhausted." Skip had just explained how Sara was doing. I'm too tired to remember what the nurse said. Or was I even awake? No I don't think I was. Never mind.
I yawned as James handed a coffee back to me. Thank God Skip was okay with sitting in the front so I could keep sleeping back here. Boy, if Sara was here...
Sara. Just thinking about her makes me smile. I can't wait to finally ask her out. Because she will wake up. I don't care if it's in a day, a week, a month, or a year. I just can't wait to see her beautiful face so I can smash my lips against hers. I'll never let her go and we'll be lost without each other. The perfect couple.
"We're here." Said James as we pulled up to my house, breaking me out of my daydreams. I returned to my heartbroken state, reminding myself that she's not back yet.
"But we're not telling the girls, right?" I asked.
"Right." Skip said. We had agreed to tell Emma and Shiva that she was spending time at the hospital with no visitors, so they don't get worked up.
I dragged myself inside, following Skip and James. It was quiet. My brothers and Emma were sitting and watching a movie, they were all clearly bored and not interested in whatever was playing. Grease. They were watching Grease on this Tuesday afternoon. Just 2 days ago I was watching Grease with my Sara for a fun Movie Afternoon. I glanced at the screen to see which scene was playing.
Summer Nights. Of course. What else would be playing that reminded me of her?
Suddenly remembering that we had just watched it a couple days ago when they came in to Sara's house, Luke glanced up at me and turned off the movie as James and Skip began explaining "what was going on" to Emma. Then, as unbelievable as it was, he and Jai looked at each other and motioned me to join them in the kitchen. What is this, a family meeting?
"What do you want, guys?" I asked them. "I swear, if you assholes broke anything when I was gone I'll-"
"No! Beau we're not that bad." Interrupted Luke, relieving my assumptions.
"We're here to talk about you and Sara." said Jai. I smiled at the sound of her name.
"Oh, okay. Guys you heard what Skip said, she only has a 50% chance..."
"She's going to live!" Luke said, interrupting me again.
"Why're ya being such a pessimist? You of all people..." Jai muttered.
"WELL I'M JUST SPITTING OUT THE DAMNED FACTS, SARA MIGHT DIE, OKAY?" Oh God no, saying it out loud makes it ten times worse. Sara might die. She might die. I can't even imagine how I sound right now...I looked up at them, they both looked absolutely terrified. "Guys, you know I don't mean-" I started, but Luke averted his eyes to something, someone behind me. I turned around to find Emma, who looked even more scared than Luke and Jai.
"Sar might fucking die!?" she screamed. "But Skip...and James! They just said she was awake...and...CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED."
I slowly began to explain to her how the concussion affected her brain, how she's in a coma, and how she won't wake up for a week.
"No," she mumbled. "that's not right. Sara's not gonna die. She can't." She was crying. We could all see from her reaction that she was...different somehow. Emma had just gone up 50 levels of maturity. We no longer saw the immature and flirty Em, we saw a serious one. It was a strange conversion, seeing it happen in seconds.
*Skip's Point of View*
This was all too much for poor Emma. This is too much for me. Emma's reaction is mirroring my dad's when Hailey passed. I couldn't handle it. Looking down, I heard Jai being the first to break Emma's silent sobs.
"Em, it's okay. Emma she's gonna live for us, Sara's tough, we all know that. Emma, look at me. Sara is going to get through this. She's going to live. She'll wake up in a week, just as the doctor said." Jai was serious, his eyes staring straight into Emma's.
Finally looking up, she said, "You really think she's gonna live?" through teary eyes.
"I know she's gonna live." Jai replied calmly, he hadn't taken his eyes off of her.
It was a very intense moment between the two. I could see that Jai really liked her, and this was the perfect time for them to come together. Even though I haven't known them for long, in fact I just met Emma yesterday, they would make a very good couple.
Slowly, Emma nodded as Jai grabbed her waist and they fell into a slow, gentle kiss. It was actually very romantic despite all of the eyes on them. As they parted, they both had wide, adorable grins on their faces.
If I could live that one moment with Sara, I think I would be the happiest man alive. Maybe I could beat Beau, see her before he does and give her a romantic kiss like Jai and Emma just shared.
As we all returned to the other room, the new couple hand in hand, James asked Emma, "So why didn't Shiva wanna come over?"
"Shiva?" Emma replied, a bit shocked. "I thought she was with you and you dropped her off on the way over."
"No, let me try calling her." James was worried. He dialed her number and waited for her to pick up, putting the phone on speaker so we could all hear.
"Hello?" answered a raspy voice. Some coughing followed.
"Shiva! I'm worried sick! Are you feeling alright? You sound hoarse."
"James. Just come. My house." Was the reply.
Then we heard some more coughing and what sounded like a splat, followed by the loudest scream I've ever heard in my entire life.
Then the phone line went dead.
Author's Note: Hey! How do you feel about what's happening with Sara's concussion? How about the new couple? And what happened to Shiva? Find out in the next chapter!! Remember to comment/vote! xx Elissa
