Chapter 20: Another Shot

*Beau's Point of View*

I dropped the gun, after seeing Skip and Jai's faces. "I swear to God, this is not what it looks like."

"Did you just...kill her Beau?" stammered Jai.

"No! No. It was a set up. I swear." I said.

Skip went over and checked the girl's pulse. "Dead." he murmured, confirming our assumptions. "Beau, what happened then?"

"I'll explain in a bit, can we just call the police and get out of here first?"

"Yeah." Jai said as we walked outside. "I think Parmiss called them, Sara's outside now."

After just a step, I grimaced. My foot was bleeding pretty badly and I didn't have my crutches with me. "Mind giving me a lift, mate?" I asked Skip.

He agreed, and helped Jai carry me outside. "We have to go to the hospital." I said. "Let me explain everything once we get back to my house."

"Fucking duh." Luke said, holding up his broken hand.

"Sorry Luke," Sara muttered. "and I have to explain everything as well."

"Yes you do." said her father. "Before you go hang out with friends, you are explaining to us why you were carrying a gun."

Sara looked down in embarrassment. "Okay."

We got to the hospital, Sara and her parents stayed behind when the police arrived and told us they were going home to sort everything out.

The pain in my foot had numbed as Luke and I were both rushed to emergency rooms. I greeted the nurse, we've seen each other far too often the past week. Bored as they wrapped up my foot, I decided to piss of the doctors and have some fun.

"Would you like the usual Coke, Beau? By the way, you're crutches are in the recovery room once we're done, your friend James brought them from your house." the nurse said. I nodded, planning to get yelled at in approximately five minutes.

"Yeah I'll have the Coke. Do you guys have any...Mentos as well?" I asked, hoping she didn't know what happens when you put the two together.

She didn't. "Sure, I'll bring them right in. Would you like any visitors? Remember, just one for now."

I smiled. Everything had gone perfectly, having someone to get sprayed by the Coke and Mentos was even better. "Can you bring my brother Jai in?" I asked.

"Sure!" she left quickly, first coming out with the candy and my drink. "You're brother will be her in just a second."

I'm gonna get into so much shit for this. Who cares though? I dumped all of the Mentos into my mouth and waited for Jai to come in. When I saw the door open, I quickly dumped all of the Coke in as well. Jai had gotten just close enough to become my target.

Jai was unprepared. "What are y-?"

I sprayed him.

"Fuck you!" he shouted as I laughed and wiped the foam from my mouth.

The nurse ran in. "What happened?!" she exclaimed, seeing the soda and pieces of candy all over the floor.

I almost started crying I laughed so hard. Jai glared at me. "Your patient just sprayed me with Coke and Mentos! Ugh." he groaned, leaving. Emma was quick to enter a couple minutes later.

"That was beyond perfect!" she said, laughing. "I was watching from the window! Jai didn't even notice!" we laughed together and saw him standing in the hallway outside, sticky from the soda.
