I slowly pulled the door open and peered around it. I smiled at the sight of Cole standing in his jogging bottoms and nice t-shirt, it made his body look good.
He raised a eyebrow at me when he noticed I was cheeking him out and I blushed turning away.
“Sorry,” I mumbled locking the door behind me. I felt warm arms wrap around my waist and my heart skipped a beat.
“It would be hard to say that I wasn’t doing the same to you,” He whispered in my ear making me tremble. He nuzzled his head into the side of my neck and inhaled my scent.
“Let’s go,” I said unwrapping his arms from my waist. He growled and I looked at him. “What was that for?” I asked and gave me an apologetic look.
“I just want you so bad,” He muttered and we walked hand in hand towards the forest.
As soon as we reached the trees we broke into a jog and then into a sprint. The wind blew roughly in my face but I loved it. My wolf jumped with joy and I bolted faster. I could see the tree’s going past me faster than they would if you were in a car at top speed. I ran faster a smile creeping up on my face. The air was pure freedom something my wolf always wanted.
“How are you doing that?” I heard Cole yell at the top of his voice. I had forgotten he was there and turned to look behind me. He was ages away for me and I slowed down. He caught up shortly with me neither one of us out of breathe.
“Well?” He said looking into my eyes. I shrugged looking forward into the tree’s.
“What?” I said after he kept staring at me.
“Have you got alpha blood?” He asked and his question shocked me. I snapped my head towards him. Unsure how to answer.
“I-I don’t know,” I replied looking away from him. My family never told me what I was and I didn’t even know where I got it from.
“Come on, Ashley,” he said putting his arms around my waist and pulling me closer. “Tell me about your past,” he said looking deeply into my eyes. I wanted so badly to tell him but I couldn’t I never told anyone, I didn’t even know how to start let alone end without crying.
“The past is in the past,” I managed to say trying to change the subject and hoping he would get the hint.
“Tell me, baby,” He became dead serious and worried.
“I said the past is in the past,” I growled pushing him away. “I don’t want to talk about it,” I turned and stormed off Cole not too far from me.
I broke into a run hopping what I did earlier would work again and left him behind. I could hear him shouting my name to come back but I couldn’t. Tears were burning in my eyes, a lump rising in my throat.
I should of know I would hurt more people, it was after all the thing I did best.
I got home in no time, Aunt Tura was still out and I could sense Cole behind me. I got in quickly and slammed the door shut in his face. “Baby, talk to me,” He begged banging on the door.
I ran up to my room crashing onto the bed. Heavy sobs escaped me making my body shake with every tear.
I wanted to go home, to find my mum in the kitchen cooking dinner, to find my sister molly playing with her toys in the corner of the living room while Sammy sat watching his favourite cartoons. I wanted to see my dad coming through the door with his suit on and brief case in one hand as he would kiss my mum and then hug all of us.
The memories were like a fire setting in my mind killing me from the inside. But all of it wasn’t possible, I had saw Molly’s small lifeless body on the bed that night, I had seen my dad lying in a pool of blood while Sammy took his last breathe in my arms and my mother slipped away from me.
