When the day for the games finally came, I found myself in a strangely nervous state..
For one thing, I was having stranger than the usual dreams, and coming from a Servant who attends Camp Half-Blood that says a lot.
In my dreams.. I was running through the woods..
It was odd too, I was wearing light clothing, of white cloth, and I was barefoot further more.. The trees sparkled with apples of gold hanging from their branches, and I held a Silver Bow in my hand.
I was hunting something, I didn't know what I was hunting, nor why I was hunting it, but I had been tracking it's movements this far.
I would stoop down now and then and place my hands over the tracks.
I was astounded by the skill and ability I showed in automatically tracking my quarry. As trained a Knight I might have been, Merlin had never showed me how to hunt before..
This was a skill I was unfamiliar with, and yet it felt familiar to me.
The Full Moon was in the sky, causing the apples to glint with a strange otherworldly beauty.
I looked around, as I continued to track my prey, and finally I found deer tracks.
Taking my bow in hand, I knew that it .. the quarry was close..
I crept through the trees until I found myself looking at a brilliant silver stag, cantering quietly through the woods. It's antlers were made of gold, and it's hooves looked like brass or bronze..
The stag looked at me quietly, seeming to beckon me with it's eyes before cantering off..
I lowered my bow, somehow I knew it would be disrespectful just to shoot at it, when it was here to give me a great message.
I stood up, and respectfully followed the Stag.
As I followed, I marveled how my feet made no sound in the leaves, And somehow I was able to position my bare feet in a way in which I could walk in complete silence.
I was one with the woods, a huntress of the night..
As I followed the stag.. it stopped momentarily turning around every so now and then, to check that I hadn't fallen behind.
Somehow I knew this particular stag was faster than any deer, that it could not only outrun an arrow in full flight, but even outrun a flying pegasus..
I walked next to the deer, and it lowered it's head, allowing me to pat it, and together we walked further towards a large archway, constructed by two trees bending over and linking their branches
And somebody was waiting there for me..
Under the arch, was a large white tree with it's branches spread everywhere, and animals of all sorts were lying there calmly.. bears, a few leopards, some more deer.. a moose, a dodo bird.. Even a T-Rex was snuffling around the tree , it's tail wagging from side to side.
And sitting on throne made of the tree's roots covered in various animal skins, was Artemis.
This time she had taken the appearance of an 18 year old rather than a 12 year old. According to Merlin, he reckoned Artemis never deigned to appear at any age older than 20, always opting to appear as a beautiful maiden.
"Hello dear Arturia." said Artemis. "How pleasant to see you, even in a dream.."
"Ummm.. why am I here?" I asked. "And.. I have to admit, creative way to meet with me."
