For a minute, I found myself swirling through the ocean, unable to really swim at all.. My armor weighing me down..
I faded in and out of consciousness, the stress of drowning blasting down upon me like a torrent of horror.
I groped around for a minute in the water.. trying to find some sort of handhold.. but it was only when a pair of small, familiar hands grabbed me under my arms, that I began to feel myself rise towards the surface.
I was thrown onto a lifeboat.. and I heard voices as somebody hastily removed my chestplate and began pumping my chest with their hands..
I spewed out water, coughing.. regaining more of my consciousness, gasping hard.. Mordred was above me, covered in sweat, her hair looking wilder than usual.. her pony tail and braid undone from the situation we had been in.
Next to her were Percy and Annabeth. While both Annabeth and Mordred were sopping wet, Percy was completely dry somehow..
"H.. how?" I moaned.
"Percy saved you." said Mordred. "You wouldn't believe this kid.. he can breathe underwater.. he's got some crazy sea god powers... controls water and stuff.."
"I know.. I once watched him pull Clarisse into the lake by making a tidal wave.." I muttered as I sat up, groaning. "where... is Clarisse by the way.."
"Us four are all we could find.." Annabeth said. "And.. well.. I think it's pretty obvious what happened to Tyson.."
I felt an immense aching in my chest as I thought about Tyson, I looked at Percy and Mordred. Both of them looked heartbroken. Aside from Percy probably feeling guilty for how Tyson was treated at camp... Mordred had loved the big guy more than anybody..
"One Eye.. I'm gonna miss him.. hell I already miss him." Mordred said quietly.
"Let's take out the Thermos.." I muttered, looking around us. 'We're in the middle of nowhere.. we need to find some sort of land.."
"Ahhh.. all the wind's gone." said Annabeth, holding up the useless empty thermos. "I used up the last of it trying to get away from.. well.. "
Annabeth was interrupted by a very distant colossal roar.
"Oh." I said. "I'm sorry about that.. I should've warned you about the Kraken we met in the Mediterranean so long ago.."
"There's no way you could've known." said Annabeth. "Krakens are primarily from Scandanavia, and they aren't Greek monsters, there's no way it should have turned up in the Sea of Monsters or moved around with it.. what's the story with that monster anyways?"
"Well, Me, My King, Galahad, and Percival were sailing down to a distant village to establish a trade agreement." said Mordred. "Long story short, we were attacked by the Kraken and we got into a huge fight with it.. after that Arturia managed to take out the beast's eye.. and ever since then it chased us all across the seas.. "
"Wait.. so.. does that mean it's gonna be chasing us now?" said Percy.
"I'm endangering this entire quest." I said, feeling heavier. "You should leave me on an island somewhere.. "
Annabeth glared at me. "Arturia?"
"Yes?"
"YOU ARE NOT.. responsible.. for Tyson's death." said Annabeth. "He died saving us, because he wanted to. His sacrifice was.."
Annabeth took a deep breath. "Admiral.. there I said it. Maybe there are good cyclopses out there.. and he was one of them. "
I nodded. "Okay.."
