The next morning I woke up in my man's arms and felt damn good. I'm thankful that the doctor cleared me to have sex again because last night was the shit. I as well as my man was well over due. I felt damn good and was not in any pain. The baby was moving around all crazy last night and I was a little nervous in the beginning but I remembered that the doctor talked to me about the baby moving around during sex.
I silently slid from under Jay's arms and went into the bathroom to get my hygiene in tack plus my bladder was full as hell.
When I came out of the bathroom I noticed Jay was awake and in the kitchen starting breakfast.
"Hey you. You beat me to the kitchen. I was getting ready to make it." I said as I wrapped my arms around his waist.
"We can cook it together. How you feel this morning?" he asked as he kissed my forehead and rubbed my stomach.
"I feel damn good. Last night was well over due."
"You can say that shit again."
" I'm just happy I can please you again."
"Baby you please me every time you smile. I don't have to have sex to be pleased."
"Awww Jay you are so sweet. Let me get them eggs so I can whip them up real quick." I said as I reached over him to grab the eggs."Look at me." Jay lifted my chin gently. " I'm not cheating on you. I love and respect you as my woman and will not do anything to cause any hurt to you or my daughter Jade."
I had tears in my eyes. Jay caught me off guard and wait a minute........"Did you just say Jade? Where did that come from?"
"I named her Jade. She is my heart. She is my second reason for living and hell she may slow me down in these streets.""Baby you are the sweetest." I said as I reached up and gave him a big sloppy kiss on his lips.
"Stop that shit. I hate those type of kisses." We both fell out laughing. I started on the eggs while he cut up some vegetables to mix in the omelets. It felt so damn good to have Jay here with me but I was scared of somebody calling telling him to hit the streets.
"I love the name Jade. But we have to come up with a middle name." I said breaking our silence.
"I know I have been thinking about that. I figure if I gave her the first name you can give her the middle and the both of you can take my last name." he responded as he stared into my eyes. It was like he was reading me through my eyes. I turned my head.
"Yeah that's a deal."
"Why did you turn away from me?"
" I don't know. Is the vegetables and meat ready for the omelets?"
"Kylah just let me know if I'm moving too fast for you and I will slow down.""No Jay I'm okay. The baby can have your last name and then when we get married I will take your last name."
"I know about the baby but how do you feel about marrying me so soon?""Well honestly I'm happy to have met someone like you but I need to hold off on the marriage thing for a while at least until I feel I'm ready. I want to marry you I just wanna make sure it's right this time."
"I understand Kylah and I will be ready when you are but I'm happily in love with you and I don't want nothing more in the world but to make you my wife."
" Thank you for understanding. I'm not saying I don't want to marry you, I just want to make sure I'm ready to take that step again.""So do you want to call off the engagement?"
"No NO NO NO! baby that is far from what I'm saying." I can see the hurt in Jay's face and that was not what I was trying to do.We finished off the omelets in silence and it was thick tension in the air. Jay made fresh squeeze orange juice and we sat at the table and had breakfast.
"Jay say something. I can't take the silence."
"I'm just thinking about some shit. Don't take it personal."
I knew him and when he was in deep thought I knew he was up to something and to leave him the fuck alone before that attitude came out.
I could hear his phone ringing in the bedroom but I chose not to tell him because I knew nine times out of ten it was the streets calling.
Jay chose to ignore his phone as well and after breakfast we took a long warm bath together and feasted on each other again.
After hoping out of the tub it was late in the afternoon and so we got dressed and went shopping for baby Jade. I loved the name Jayson gave our daughter. Jay had excellent taste in shopping for baby girls. It was a beautiful day out and so after we shopped for Jade we took a stroll on the River Walk downtown. Jay was still silent for most of the walk and I could tell that what we talked about that morning was really bothering him. I wanted to bring it back up but I didn't want to ruin our beautiful day together so I chose to leave it alone and just go with the flow.
