I slowly opened my eyes from the sun shining bright through the blinds. I tried to reach out for the remote that electronically closes my curtains, then I realized I wasn't at home. Not my father's home anyway. I rubbed my eyes and sat up on the couch my mother had me sleeping on. She only had a one bedroom apartment and she told me we can move into something bigger as soon as possible. She kept asking me was I okay with everything that happened. I don't know what to feel and if I did I don't know if the feeling would be right. My family is torn apart, my mother pulled a gun out on my father like it was nothing, and there are most likely people after me to get to them that I don't even know about. I wouldn't even know the first thing on what to do if someone was to approach me. What I  did to Khimani wasn't me at all and I don't have any clue how I was able to do it. I just knew that I didn't want anyone to harm my mother. I've never been in a fight before that moment and I was terrified. Especially considering the fact that Khimani could have killed me.

I swung my feet from up under the cover and tried to get up but tripped and fell over a body that I not realized was Annie's. She jumped up and whipped her mouth.

"What happened?", she asked.

"What are you doing on the floor?"

"Well, it's not like you gave me much room on the couch".

"You stayed the night? Why?"

"Rabbit, your life has been going to shit for a minute now. I just wanna make sure I'm here to help you when you finally snap".

"I won't snap".

"Oh, you're going to snap. Hopefully it isn't on someone like Zy'Air".

"Who's Zy'Air?", my mother said entering the room. She helped me up off the floor and handed me a cup of coffee.

"You still like that flavored creamer right?", she asked me.

"Yes", I said with a smile. I felt more at home with my mother than I do with my father. With her I feel so comfortable and protected.

"So, who is Zy'Air?", she asked again.

"Rabbit's boyfriend", Annie said teasingly.

"He isn't my boyfriend".

"Then what is he?"

"He's ... just a friend".

"Girl bye!", Annie said rolling her eyes.

My mother chuckled then sat back on the couch and pulled  blunt from behind her ear. She looked at me and motioned for me to sit next to her.

"I'm sorry about how everything went down", she said to me while lighting the weed. She took a few pulls then handed the blunt to Annie. I didn't even know Annie smoked.

"You and dad did something major to get that money you asked for?"

She smiled. "Yeah, it was our first big lick. We went in, guns blazing, and walked out with way more than we intended. That was one thing I could always say about your father and I, our chemistry in the field was unmatched".

"Mommy, are you a queen pin?"

"Not in the slightest. Like I told you before, your father was the face of everything. But when he was in the game, he wasn't someone to play with".

"And are people after me because of him?"

"I don't know. He did hurt a lot of people and no one really forgot his connection to Pablo".

"So, what do I do?"

"What do you mean?"

"If someone tries to get to me because of him".
