I pulled myself up using the wall off the toilet and flushed it. Out of all the books I read preparing myself for childbirth, none of them in my opinion truly prepared me for the pain I was currently in. It felt like someone dismembered my body from the waist down then reassembled me. The nurses seemed to be in here damn near every twenty minutes, whether it be to take my vitals, check on Genesis, giving me my meds, or escorting me to the bathroom. I said fuck it and decided to walk myself to pee this time around. They plan on discharging me this afternoon so I've been here long enough to know which nurses were working this morning and I did not want to smell that scrawny bitch's breath this early in the morning. They told me I should be walking around more anyway.

I took my time, continuing to use the wall to guide me back to my hospital bed. Every time I took a step, I could feel the blood oozing out of me. I felt disgusting and wanted to shower but of course I left that up to Zy'Air to bring me some clothes. I kept telling myself to pack my hospital bag before I went into labor but was so busy with the product and keeping things on track that I never got around to it.

A small knock at the door and in walked Zy'Air with a woman I had never seen before following close behind him. She wore a doctor's coat so I knew she at least worked in the hospital. However, I was too busy looking at Zy'Air's face and trying to figure out why it seemed like all the blood had rushed from it. The woman cleared her throat, finally taking my attention away from him.

"Miss Tubman, how are you feeling?" She asked.

"Fine," I answered tightly. "What is this about? Are you guys discharging me early?"

"Oh no, I don't know anything about that. I'm here with your test results."

I looked at her confused. "Test results?"

"Zoyanna, I-" Zy'Air started.

"The paternity test," the doctor said, interrupting him. I snapped my neck and looked at him.

"The fuck she mean a paternity test?"

"Zoyanna, baby ... it's not like that. I just-"

"You just fucking what?" I yelled.

"I just was uneasy. Then Lamonte-"

"Lamonte? You telling me you got a paternity test behind my back because of that stupid ass nigga?"

"Miss Tubman, if you could lower your voice please."

I looked back to the doctor and rolled my eyes. "Doctor, if you could shut the fuck up please."

She huffed then slammed the envelope down on the tray that was beside my bed then left out the room. Both Zy'Air and I seemed to have started at the envelope for ages. I knew there was no way he had any idea that I was still messing around with Donnie before. So, I know this is just out of curiosity for him. I on the other hand was close to shitting my panties. I could continue to make a big deal and guilt him out looking at the results but hell I wanted to know just as bad as he did.

"Zoy, I just wanna say that I don't doubt you at all. I know you've been holding it down with me this whole time."

All I could do was nod. I was scared to look him in the eyes, because I knew he'd immediately see my fear.

"Imma just look and have the proof of what I already know," he said while grabbing the envelope. My body started to feel like it was going in panic mode. Suddenly my mouth was really dry and my heart was racing. I slowly moved so that I was sitting more centered in the bed then looked up at him. His eyes scanned the paper, his smile slowly dropping. He looked at me then back to the paper, scanning the paper again.
