"This stage should already be set up by now!" I yelled. "I'm not paying you to waste my time so get it done! Now, please."

I rolled my eyes. The set up crew for my fashion show has been messing up all day and it's really starting to stress me out now. I need everything to be perfect. Not only because I'm selling drugs throughout the show and don't want to get caught, but also because fashion is still my passion. I've always pictured myself doing exactly this. I don't want my first show and the start of my career be a flop due to poor ass lighting and weak stage floor.

My phone vibrated in my back pocket and I quickly pulled it out. I checked and saw it was a message from Levon telling me to meet him out back. I rented out an empty one story building and there weren't many rooms on the inside so I can understand why he didn't want to handle business inside and end up getting caught. However, it's broad daylight outside and the risk is there as well. Once again, I was annoyed. But I knew if I wanted to do this right, we were going to need more drugs than the little bit Zy'Air gave me. He kept telling me the Columbian connect was going to come through but I have yet to see the fruits of that labor. I know he'll be infuriated when he finds out I'm working with his dead beat daddy but what choice did I have? We needed product and he has it and is willing to give it so I'm taking it.

My heels echoed loudly as I walked to the back door of the building. I pushed the single door open and walked out to a back alleyway. I looked in both directions and didn't see anyone. Suddenly a black Tahoe turned into the alley and pulled up in front of me. The passenger door opened and a tall dark-skinned bald buff man with all black on and shades stepped out. He opened the back door and stepped aside.

"Get in," I heard Levon say from inside the truck. I checked my surroundings again then hopped in and sat down on the smooth leather interior. I faced forward, not making full eye contact. Levon took off the shades he was wearing and smoothed out his slacks.

"Were the bodyguards necessary?" I asked him. His response was a chuckle.

"Queen, I'm riding around with drugs and I'm a known connect. Why wouldn't I come protected?"

I shrugged. I was slowly trying to build my confidence. This was my first time making a deal. Levon sighed.

"They aren't here to guard me though," he said.

"Then who or what are they guarding?"

"You."

I snapped my head around to look at him. "Excuse me?"

"Grim is what you are calling yourself, hm?"

I nodded.

"Well then, Grim, I am very much so invested into your operation."

"And why is that?"

"You mean other than the fact that you inherited a gold mine that I can very easily tap into?" He smiled. "Well you are the love of my only son's life."

I became flustered. "I wouldn't say all that. You don't even know him to know that as a fact."

"That is where you are mistaken. Just because I wasn't around Zy'Air doesn't mean I don't know everything about him. He has a very short fuse and the fuse would've had him dead years ago had it not been for me."

I folded my arms across my chest. "I think he'll find that hard to believe."

"Oh, I'm sure of it. That is why he doesn't know."

Levon reached down by his feet and picked up a small carrying bag and placed it in the space between us.

"Like I said Miss Grim, I'm invested. And because of that you need protection. These two are Gino and Saul. Wherever you go, they go."
