I pulled up outside of Annie's place and killed the engine. I decided within myself that I didn't want to have something this small ruin our friendship. We've been through worst. Like all the times she would get pissed at my father for not letting me come over when we were coming up. He knew Miss Rhianna from back in the day but he was so keen on not having me around anything of their past, even if that meant keeping me away from Annie. We would end up seeing each other at the park and at other kid events and when  would try to talk to her, she would ignore me. It stayed like that for a while until one day she came over to my house and told me she didn't give a fuck that my dad wanted us a part. I was her best friend and nobody could change that. Not even me.

I walked up the long flight of stairs to the third floor and strolled down the pissy hallway to her apartment door. I knocked slightly and waited to hear any indication that someone was inside. After a few moments of silence, I heard the security locks being taken off and the door flew wide open. A girl with a short pixie cut answered in nothing but some shorts and a laced bra. She looked me up and down as I did her. I've never seen this chick before and why the hell was she answering Annie's door.

"May I help you?", she asked.

"Is Annie here?"

"Who's asking?"

"Who's that at the door?", I heard Annie ask. The door opened wider and Annie locked eyes with me. Her cheeks turned red as if she was embarrassed. Don't know why.

"Hey Rabbit, what you doing here?"

"Well, I hadn't heard from you so I thought I'd come make sure you were okay".

"Come in".

I stepped inside the best way I could since her little didn't want to fully move out of the way. She kept eyeballing me and it was starting to piss me off. I never thought I'd have to have to conversation with Annie about her keeping her hoes in check but this seems to be the time to do so.

"Rabbit, this is my friend, Lo".

I looked up at the chick and saw she was still staring at me.

"Is there a problem?", I asked her.

"Not only did you interrupt us by randomly showing up, but you come struttin' in here like you live here or somethin'".

"Lo, this is not the time", Annie said protesting wherever this bitch thought she was going with this.

"Isn't this the friend you were telling me about? The one you're oh so in love with? Now you want me to sit and be cordial?"

"Maybe I should just go", I said attempting to stand up. Annie looked up at me then gave me the same face Zy'Air gave me at the prison.

"What the fuck happened to your face?"

I reached up at my swollen eye and tried to hide it.

"She probably-"

"Shut the fuck up Lo!", Annie said, cutting her off. "Better yet, get the fuck out. And don't call me until you know how the fuck to act when you in my fuckin' house".

Lo rolled her eyes and grabbed the jacket that was hanging over the couch and put it over her shirtless body. She walked out the door, slamming it behind her.

"Girlfriend?", I asked Annie.

"A distraction", she answered. "Now explain what the hell is going on".

"It's-"

"If you tell me it's nothing I'm going to swell up the other eye".

I sat all the way back on the couch. "I was at the mall with Zy'Air and Earole saw us talking and-"
