The most dreadful part of spending time with Hunter was upon us. He walked me to the airport gate and hugged me, "I already miss you."
I pulled away for a moment trying not to get misty eyed. "I do too. This is the hard part." He nodded and hugged me again. "I will text you when I get home. I love you and can't thank you enough for the past ten weeks we've spent together."
"The pleasure was all mine," he kissed my forehead, "I love you too. Please travel safe."
I gave him one last kiss and made my way into the bustling Nashville airport. Within an hour I was boarding onto my plane, I plugged into my iPod and the first song on my shuffle was Taylor Swift's 'Come Back, Be Here', a few tears slid down my cheeks as I listened to the song and felt exactly what she was saying.
The flight felt long and dragged out, but eventually I landed in Toronto, and made my way to get my suitcase. I texted my dad to let him know I landed and texted Hunter also.
J: landed, dad is coming to get me. I am missing you tremendously
H: glad you're safe. Love you and miss you
J: love you xo
I continued onward to the exit doors of terminal three and found my dad parked. I flagged him down and he jumped out, loading my suitcase into the trunk. "We missed you Jenna, how was your trip?"
I told him about almost everything, that I kept up with my courses for my accreditation and that I was just really jet lagged and missing home and Hunter all at once. His reply was simple but wise, "Love doesn't know distance. If it's meant to be, you will find a way between the both of you to make it happen."
The next day, I went to meet with Stephanie. She's the only person outside of my immediate family that has any clue as to what is going on in my life. "Tell me everything!" She said as we grabbed seats at Starbucks.
"Everything?" I asked jokingly, but her expression was serious, "the tour itself was good. I had fun, there were some times where Hunter had interviews or whatever so I stayed on the bus which was a bit boring at times." I showed her pictures of the San Fransisco date day we had, along with a few others I took in different places.
"It looks like you had fun," she sipped her coffee, "did you make any...advances in your relationship?" With my lips trying not to smile, she nudged me and winked. I spared the intimate details but told her that we dropped the L-bomb mutually and we were willing to put in the work we needed to for our relationship to be successful. She smiled, genuinely happy for me. "Graduation is in two weeks, are you ready? What are you going to wear?" She asked. We discussed it and I realize I never made mention of it to Hunter. I pondered the thought of mentioning it but not expecting him to come, or if he didn't mention it on purpose...I snapped out of my thought with Stephanie waving her hand at me, "Uh hello!?"
"Sorry," I said, sipping my coffee, "I forgot to mention graduation to Hunter. I also have no idea what to wear. Do you want to go shopping?" Steph nodded and I grabbed !y keys and we headed for the mall.
