As the weeks of the tour progressed, the faster I feel it went by. It was the day after the closing show in Nashville and I spent the night in Hunter's condo downtown. "I am actually sad it's all over," I said, folding up some laundry.
"I know," Hunter said, taking what I folded and put in in drawers, "but trust me, if I'm not touring, I'm recording or writing or something. CMA fest is in a week." I nodded, always dreamed of going, never had the time, or money. "That reminds me," Hunter left the room and started digging around the kitchen, "I should give you this." He handed me a laminated pass for CMA fest.
"Hunter!" I squealed and jumped up to embrace him, "actually!?" I looked at the pass, it was laminated with my name on it and the whole nine yards. "This is amazing. Thank you!" He smiled and said it was no problem, anything to keep me around a little longer.
We ordered in and spent the evening cuddled up watching Master Chef and Top Gear. I wasn't really watching Top Gear, I was watching Hunter watch it. He must have felt my staring, because he turned to me and asked, "What? Have I got food on my face?"
"No," I laughed, "you're perfect." I squeezed his hand. He looked at me like he had more to say, or wanted me to say more. "I really appreciate spending so much time with you. I've learned so much about you, and about me." He looked a little puzzled. "I had this guard up from the moment I met you, and I don't know why. But I've let it down, opened up my heart to you and you've showed me the kind of guy you are. I would be crazy to fight off these feelings I'm having for you."
He smiled, "We've both been hurt. I would never want you to feel that way - especially because of something I've done. Jenna, I am beginning to fall in love with you and I am completely helpless to it."
I felt my cheeks blush, and I looked in his eyes, "I am falling in love with you too." He kissed me sweetly. This was just the beginning of something very special.
