Better Together

The time at my parents came to an end, as Hunter and I boarded a plane to Nashville. We filed into the plane and sat in the first cabin. Hunter and I buckled in and I tuned into my iPod while he wrote away in his song journal. The flight was peaceful and it felt so much better sitting next to him.

We arrived in Nashville, retrieved our luggage and were greeted at the exit by several cameras and TMZ reporters. Sam was parked and flagged us down as reporters were firing questions, "Jenna, are you moving to Nashville?" "Hunter, how was Canada?" So on, so forth.

We hopped into Sam's car and headed to Hunter's condo. "How've your holidays been, Jenna?'

'Pretty good,' I squeezed Hunter's hand. I swore him to secrecy regarding the singing thing. "How about yours?" He explained how he and Joelle just got back from Montana visiting her family. "I'm pretty excited about the New Year's party. Any idea if Joelle has an outfit? Give her my number, maybe she and I can go shopping."

"That's a great idea," Hunter said, "We have a little bit of work to finish up tomorrow."

We made it into Hunter's condo and Sam went home. I kicked my shoes off and flopped down on the couch. Hunter came, pretending to crash on top of me, bringing his lips just millimeters away from mine, making me stretch to kiss him. "You're gonna make me work for it aren't you?"

His lips broke into a smile, and as I went to kiss him, he pulled away just a bit. I pulled the collar of his hoodie, bringing his lips to mine, he gave in, slowly laying on top of me. I could feel him getting excited through his jeans. "Sit up," I muttered. We shifted and I sat over top of him, kissing him and running my fingers through his hair. Getting warmer, I took off my hoodie. He pulled me closer to him,  kissing my neck and collarbone. I sat back, slowly standing up to lead him over to the bedroom.

Standing at the side of his bed, he discarded his sweater, his muscles rippling under his thin tee shirt. I pushed him back onto the bed, I straddled him, one hand supporting me, my other hand fiddled with his belt buckle. Once I got him unbuckled, I wiggled out of my leggings and caught a glimpse of Hunter watching me while getting out of his jeans. "What?" I said half, smiling, taking off my tank top and dropping it to the floor.

He gave me a look head to toe, "Those are new," he said in a soft, sexy voice. He sat on the edge of the bed, his hands exploring my curves, gently tugging at my bra and underwear as I rubbed his shoulders. I gently pushed him back, he gave in so easily. I went back on top of him, kissing him and pressing my hips to his. "Condom." he whispered. He was excited. It feels like forever since we'd been intimate. I rolled over to grab one from the nightstand. I held onto it, kissing him just a little bit more.

I slid his boxers off, put it on and brought myself over top of him. Slowly, teasing him, his hands held my hips. We kissed,  and were close, entangled in each other for the better part of twenty minutes. We both finished and laid wrapped up in the blankets. "You give me butterflies," I kissed his nose.

"I love you."

We tidied ourselves up and raided the cupboards and fridge for food. "Sorry babe, I haven't been here for two weeks." I shrugged.

"We can eat out," I smiled, and it occurred to me, "Where's the dog?" Hunter laughed. He kept Cole at at Matt's house. We made our way out for dinner when I realized my phone was still on airplane mode. I flipped it back on and it was pinging, beeping and buzzing for a few minutes.

"Whoa there, Miss Popular." I laughed. Missed texts from mom, dad, Steph and Joelle. I took a moment to answer them and turned my attention back to Hunter as he navigated the streets, looking for a place to park. "We're here."

We walked up to the Chili's and grabbed a booth in the back. Hunter checked  a phone before sliding it into his pocket. "Everything good?" He nodded.

"We are cutting a track tomorrow. Matt is gonna bring Cole back." I reached across the table for his hand. "I'm happy you will be here for the week."

"So am I," I squeezed his hand. We ordered and on the way back to Hunter's we picked up some snacks at Rexall. The night was spent cuddling and kissing, among other things.

Hunter left early the next morning, so I took it upon myself to tidy up a bit before Joelle and I went shopping. I dusted and started the laundry for Hunter and did the dishes. I gave the floor a quick swiffer when my phone began to buzz, it was Joelle.

"Hey, I'm leaving Sam's now, I should be there in ten minutes."

"Perfect - I'll be ready." I put the swiffer away and grabbed some socks and my boots. I threw my hair in a braid and made my way down to the lobby to see Joelle pull up in a black Mazda.

I went outside and opened the door, "Hey - good to see you." I hopped in and we made our way to the mall. We grabbed coffees, strolled around and caught up. We successfully found outfits for the Opry New Years Celebration. I found a pretty, floor length dress that was navy in colour. I found silver flats to go along with it and Joelle found a pretty, emerald green dress that had a sweetheart neck line. She dropped me back off at Hunter's and to my surprise he was already home.

"Hey, you're back sooner than I thought." I found Hunter lounging on the couch with Cole watching reruns of Top Gear. Once Cole realized I was there, he hopped up of the couch to greet me.

"I noticed you cleaned up," Hunter smiled, moving some pillows and making room for me to sit down. "You didn't have to spend your vacation cleaning up my condo." He laughed and I gave him a hug.

"Honestly, not a problem." I smiled and placed my purchases on the kitchen counter before sitting with Hunter. "Joelle and I caught up, we both got new outfits."

"I can't wait to see. Maybe I can get a sneak preview?" Hunter gushed as I sat down beside him. "Hey, so I was thinking while I was in the studio today.... would you ever want to record something, just you and me?" I shrugged, I've thought about it lots before but right now I felt like I was just trying to navigate this new world of country celebrity girlfriend status, and the last thing I wanted was people saying I was dating Hunter for a chance of fame. I expressed my concerns, he nodded, fully understanding. "Just know that I would record with you at the drop of a hat." He hugged me and we decided it would probably be best to walk Cole and go to the grocery store and restock the rather barren pantry.
