The vampire king sat by himself, a wide smirk on his face. He laughed to himself, as he heard yells from a near room. Leaning back in his seat, he stared at the doors across from him, waiting for them to open and reveal the enraged wolf.
Finally, the doors swung open; Tetsuo getting pushed through the doors. He growled as the two men holding his arms pulled him closer towards the vampire king.
"You lied!" Tetsuo yelled the moment he made eye contact with Karlheinz. The older man only smirked.
"You told me you were helping me .. but you're the one who threatened me..weren't you?" Tetsuo said, glaring. He tried to pull his arms out of the grasp of the two men.
"You lied to my sons as well. You didn't even tell them about the threats." Karlheinz said, chuckling.
"Thats beside the point. Why were you keeping me here anyway?" Tetsuo asked, curious about the whole situation.
"I thought you'd make my plan interesting, but you ruined it completely. So I needed you out of the way. You were only supposed to be a servant anyway." The king said, shrugging.
"What...is this about Yui?" Tetsuo asked, confused. Though his questions couldn't be answered as the door behind them opened.
"Ah, there he is." Karlheinz said, clapping his hands together. He stood and walked over to the boy now being drug into the room. A man walked up, bringing a limp blonde somewhat to his feet.
"I just need my sons to believe you aren't in the picture anymore. I don't actually want to kill you, as you are very useful to me, so we're going to use him as a dummy."
"Matthias...?" Tetsuo whimpered quietly, staring at the boy next to him.
"Correct!" Tetsuo's eyes softened as he looked at the beaten up boy before him. Matthias' hair had been dyed to blonde and when his eyes opened, he had blue-ish contacts in.
"We just have to make them believe you're dead. I mean, you two look so similar." Karlheinz commented, looking from one to the other. The wolf noticed how the other was even scarred just like himself.
"No..please don't kill him..he's only 17.." Tetsuo mumbled, frustrated from knowing his pleads would be ignored.
"You can go ahead and take him." Karlheinz said to the men, watching with a smirk.
"I'm so sorry, Matthias.." Tetsuo said, looking at the tired boy. He got a small smile in return, before Matthias was pulled towards the outside. Tetsuo felt a tear run down his cheek, though he wiped it away best he could without the use of his hands.
"Is your plan really that serious...that you'd kill an innocent kid?" Tetsuo asked, glaring at Karlheinz once again.
The vampire king shrugged before pointing towards the door they came in. "You can take him back now. Don't let him out of your sight."
"Ugh..can you at least tell these guys to keep their fucking hands off me? I'd rather not have some dirty, 2-inch—"
"I have no control over them sometimes." Karlheinz said, cutting off Tetsuo and turning around. The wolf rolled his eyes as he was pulled out of the room again.A hand slammed against a large dining table. "Why are we even in this situation again!?" The albino vampire yelled, frustrated.
"He lied about something, obviously. We shouldn't have even fought for him." Subaru continued, crossing his arms.
"Says the person that threw themselves at the nearest guy with a weapon." Ayato rolled his eyes.
"Okay and you were closest to him, why couldn't you see they had him?" Laito shot at Ayato, a glare on his face.
"It is not Ore-sama's fault." He seethed, looking up at Laito standing near him. Before his brother could reply, Yui came down the stairs with Kanato. She had gotten a bit sick from whatever was in the syringe, and Kanato had offered to watch her.
"What are you all still on about?" Yui asked, looking at all the angry faces of the brothers. "We need to find out what happened? And who else to go to but him?" She said, standing at the table.
"Not only did he leave for years, but he tried to come back and lie to us. He's gone again, so why help him? Why even figure out what happened?" Shu asked quietly, the clear feeling of pain shown in his eyes.
"You know we can't do that." Reiji spoke up, clearly stressed as he rubbed his temples.
"Maybe..but it's just out of curiosity." Subaru admitted, frowning.
"You know that's not it either." Yui said, crossing her arms. It was silent afterwards as they realized.
"Okay, but where would we even look?" Ayato asked, looking around. Reiji shrugged, "I'm sure someone left tracks or —"
There was a loud banging on the door. "Please help me! Please!" Upon hearing the almost familiar voice, everyone got up to see the door opening.
"I don't want to die!" A boy screamed, running into the mansion. "Plea—" The boy suddenly dropped to the ground; the ring of the shots seeming to delay. Everyone stood shocked as the blonde boy bled out from several wounds.
The door then slammed shut from wind as Yui let out a muffled scream, from covering her mouth. She ran to the body, quickly kneeling and turning his head towards her.
"Tetsuo?" She mumbled, staring at the face. The brothers looked around at the windows, sensing people near. Yui looked long at the face, blinking back tears and muttering the wolf's name questionably.
Finally she looked up at Reiji before looking back at the body. "Reiji.." She whispered. He got the message and kneeled down, looking at the body.
"Someone's looking through the windows, stay quiet." The other brothers were oblivious to these words and stood dumbfound looking around the room, or at the body.
"This isn't Tetsuo." Yui whispered, covering her mouth. Reiji looked over the body, though making it seem he was frantic to look for a way to make the blood stop.
"You're right...keep crying." He said, faking a saddened expression. He picked up the body into his arms; Yui backing away as she cried out.
Reiji turned to his brothers as they all turned, hoping the tall vampire would say there was a way to save him.
"What's happening...say something Reiji.." Kanato snapped at the silence.
Before he could speak, Yui threw herself at Ayato, pretending to cry on his shoulder. Softly, she whispered to him that the boy wasn't Tetsuo and they were being watched.
As the group migrated upstairs, the message was passed, and they all silently understood. Matthias' body was laid out onto a bed.
"I don't know if I can do this.." Yui cried, turning into Reiji's body to cry on his shoulder. "Are they still listening?" She whispered almost inaudibly.
"I'm afraid it was bound to happen." Reiji said, looking at his oldest brother.
"I suppose it was." Shu muttered, turning away. Yui took that as a yes.
"What will we do?" Kanato asked shakily, letting tears fall down his face. He was asking that, genuinely not knowing what they would do with this random boy now.
"We'll give him a proper burial. Let us go discuss it downstairs." Reiji said, turning towards the door. The all started to swarm out of the room.
"They're gone." Subaru said softly as they started downstairs.
"Laito, Ayato, go check." Reiji said calmly, walking with Yui towards the main hall. Laito and his older triplet stalked away from the group, checking to look outside the windows and eventually outside. They returned inside the mansion, finding the rest of the residents sitting down.
"It's all clear." Ayato said, sitting down next to Yui.
"Whoever did this really must think we're dumb." Subaru commented, leaning against a wall. "But at least this may get us closer to Tetsuo." He finished, sighing.

Oof he's gotta be the bad guy now. Also, unless I can think of more, this is going to be pretty short compared to the first book.
