The feeling of falling startled Percy awake. Luckily he was out of the Abyss of Chaos, but he still did not know where he was until his brain provided him with the coordinates of his location, which came as a shock, really. The last time he woke after his second trip to Tartarus it was in Switzerland. This time though, it was still a range of mountains, but even further away from the US East Coast than the Alps. The Hindu Kush was nearly on the other side of the planet, whereupon the Alps were somewhere around one-fourth (1/4) of the Planet Earth away. Separated by one of the largest bodies of water in the world.

But speaking of water, he questioned himself, how he got in the water anyway, until he remembered falling into it.

He could hear two people arguing and decided to get up. While he emerged from the water, it flowed down on him until everything from his hair to his shoes, which were still in the water, was dry which earned him surprised stares from the priestess and the solidified ghost.

"Just for my clarification: do you always greet your visitors with a sword to the chest?"

"No, normally, we shoot intruders", the 'ghost' explained, "or capture them for torture."

The priestess looked at Percy in wonder, "how did you survive that?"

"That's none of your concern."

"Oh, but it is. I am a priestess and I took you in because I felt you had a touch of the mystic. So try again. What are you?"

Percy breathed deeply in, looked Ra's and the priestess in the eyes and then answered with a breathy voice, "I'm an immortal."

2 Talking all the way

Malcolm Merlyn told Al 'iiesar everything, starting with the death of his wife, Rebecca, his first, two-year long stay with the League to the sinking of the Queen's Gambit, his involvement in the Undertaking and everything that had happened since then in Starling City.

Al 'iiesar was a considerate listener and only asked for clarification, when absolutely necessary. After Malcolm finished his story with the explosion of Lian Yu, Al 'iiesar spoke up, "I thank you for your honesty. Now I have something to think about during my work. If you're good enough you can help the priestess caring for the injured. But don't strain yourself too much."

"I'll take care and thank you for healing me."

Al 'iiesar stood up, "My pleasure, I will see you soon."

Malcolm nodded, "Goodbye, Al 'iiesar."

Al 'iiesar left the room and was walking through the corridor, as he suddenly drew his sword and held it to Ra's' throat.

"You know better than trying to sneak up on me, Ra's. I can sense where you are."

"Of course, Al 'iiesar, but there are matters I want to discuss with you."

"Let's meet in two hours in the grounds. I want to rest a bit."

"As you wish", Ra's nodded in affirmation, " meanwhile I'll keep an eye on Al Sa-her. I don't trust him."

"I, on the other hand, don't know yet. I would not trust him with my life, although some of his motivations like his daughter seem sincere. But that does not matter at the moment. I will see you in two hours."

"Of course, Al 'iiesar."

3 Flashback 09: How to Shock and Surprise by Percy Jackson

*"I'm an immortal."*

The confession shocked the both League member yet again.

"That explains it", the priestess added dryly while gesturing to Percy's chest.

"Yeah, there aren't that many things that can hurt me let alone kill me for a certain amount of time."

Ra's face contorted into a mask of deep musing, accompanied by a voiced, "Interesting. So that is the reason you could bring me back."

Percy shuffled a bit, "Actually, I don't know how I did that."

Again both were surprised, but it was the priestess, who made that surprise room.

"So you have no idea whatsoever happened?"

"Not in the slightest", Percy answered truthfully.

Ra's contemplated this new piece of information a bit longer while walking to his sword.

"Are you rested enough to have a real sparring match with me?", then he suddenly looked around and asked, "where is your sword?"

Percy smiled and took a black ballpoint pen out of his pocket and uncapped it, whereupon it changed into the dimly glowing bronze xiphos. If it was possible to surprise Ra's and the priestess even more - this did the trick.

Ra's, or Al 'rwh as he had come to be known, observed the man to him known as Al Sa-her. Al 'rwh had given up his more solid form in favour of the transparent one to hide himself in the shadows of the room. His watchful gaze never wavered from his former horseman.

Malcolm Merlyn brought the priestess oils, salves and bandages, everything she needed without complaint. He was slow and could only use one hand, but he helped. First, they only spoke the bare necessities. Although after a while, Malcolm overcame his pride and asked for Al 'iiesar.

"Where did he learn to fight like that? I have never seen anything even remarkable similar anywhere. Some League moves I recognize, but the rest ..."

"He won against Ra's in the third fight they had. A friendly warning, if you want to try killing him, don't do it. He is not to be trifled with", the priestess warned with a serious voice, "And you should thank him he healed you. And not just your most recent injuries."

She gestured to Al Sa-her's left hand.

"I don't intend to kill him. I intend to ask him to heal me completely. And he can hardly do that dead."

The priestess chuckled and answered in her own mysterious way, "You'd be surprised."

Malcolm was sightly confused-looking, but the look was gone as fast as it had come.

Meanwhile, Al 'rwh was still hiding in the shadows to collect information.
