Preliminary Rounds

"We are almost there!" I said grinning, as we ran through the trees. We were heading to the place where the preliminary rounds were being held. We arrived and stood with the other kids waiting for it to begin. Hayate Gekko, stood at the front, "This is the preliminary rounds. It consists of multiple one-on-one battles and the winners of each battle will move on, until one ninja is standing. The winner is decided by either killing an opponent, or one of the genin give up. As Procter, I can end the match and call the winner if I feel it's gone on long enough. Now, the first match is..." I tuned Hyate out s my eyes wondered over to Gaara. I smiled and raced over to him, quietly. I came up beside him and smiled, "Hi, Gaara." I said in my usually cheery voice. His siblings looked at me like I was crazy, as he turned to me, "Oh, hello Kimoria." He said and I grinned at him, making him smile a little at me. I stayed by him, chatting with him while we watched the battles. Finally I heard my name, "Kimoria Hatake, of the Hidden Leaf Village vs jinka Yuki of the Hidden Stone Village." He said and I smiled at Gaara, "I'll be right back, Gaara. Watch me!" I said excitedly and jumped over the railing. I smiled at Jinka and smirked, "Well, let's have some fun, Jinka." I said. And she immediately attacked, "Earth Style: Stone Shuriken!" She shouted and I dodged and she weaved more signs, "Earth Style: Mud Slide!" She shouted and I dodged and finally attacked, "Lightning Style: Lightning Blast!" I shouted and hit her. She weaved more signs, "Earth Style: Earth Dragon Blast!" She shouted and I smiled, "Lightning Style: Lightning Beam!" I shouted and hit her. She hit me with Dragon Blast and I made shadow clones. The battle ranged on. Until I barely had any chakra left. I looked at Gaara then back at my opponent and weaved my final attack, "Lightning Style: Lightning Hound!" I shouted and landed my attack, causing Hyate to call the match, "The win goes to Kimoria Hatake of the Hidden Leaf Village." Everyone cheered and I grinned. "Earth Style: Quicksand!" She shouted and I was suddenly sinking fast. She smirked and attacked again, "Earth Style: Earth Dragon Blast!"
I couldn't defend myself and squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for then end. Suddenly it all seemed dark and I slowly opened my eyes. I was no longer sinking, and was trapped by a sand dome. I slowly walked over and suddenly the Sand fell away, revealing Gaara, standing in front of me. I gasped, "G-Gaara?" I asked and he attacked. His sand continuously attacked her and I grabbed his shoulder, "Gaara! Gaara stop, please! She's learned her leason! Gaara, I beg you!" I shouted and his sand suddenly stopped and retreated. I smiled, "Thank you for saving me again, Gaara. You really are amazing." I said smiling and he looked at me, "You're-you're welcome, Kimoria." He said and Dad appeared at my side, "Kimoria, are you okay?" He asked and Gaara went back to his siblings. I watched him go and nodded, "Don't worry, Dad. I'm perfectly fine." I said smiling at Gaara, my face red. Dad picked me up and took me to my team as the next match began, however, I didn't focus on the matches, I focused on the one guy who stole my attention, Gaara.
