You were back in Maine with Ethan to visit his family for Christmas. You were laying in the comfortable white bed taking in all the the heat that was around you. Living in LA for a few years you forget how cold it can be. Ethan walked into the room wearing a hoodie, sweatpants and some soft socks. He had two mugs of hot chocolate in his hands, he slowly handed you the warm mug, with boiling milk that could burn your skin just by touching it

You placed the edge of the mug to your lips, feeling the heat from the steam on your face. You took a small sip feeling the heat go down to your stomach. The liquid quickly warmed up your body. You sigh taking another sip and scooting closer to Ethan, whose body heat is radiating over to you, making you feel comfy

"I have an idea" Ethan said in a soft voice. I look over to him and saw a small smile face. I nodded "Yeah, what is it?" I ask looking at the brown mug in my hands. "There is this small frozen pond a few miles away, maybe we could go ice skating?" He asked with hope in his voice. "Uh i-I don't have skates" I say trying to think of a excuse as to not go ice skating. I never skated before in my life, and I was to scared to go.

He laughed "Oh, Love that's not a problem" he said smiling. He brought his mug to his lips and took a sip. "Uh really, that's great" I said placing a fake smile on my face but Ethan saw right through it. His eyebrows furrowed. "What's up babe?" He ask taking my chin in his hands. "Nothing" I said. He just stared at me unamused "okay, I'm scared to go. What if I fall and get really hurt?" I ask quickly. "You won't get hurt, come" he said.

I stood up placing my feet on the cold wooden floor. Ethan walked over to his closet and opened it, revealing two brand new pair of skates. "You bought it even though you didn't even know I will go skating?" I asked giggling. "You can't say know to me love" Ethan said giving me the pair of show white skates. "Dress up warmly and meet me outside by the car" he said walking out into the guest bathroom, giving me time to change. I place the skated on the bed and took out the warmest clothes I have. After I'm finished I look over at the skates a sigh leaving my mouth.

I walk out into the cold Maine air, as soon as my skin touched the air I was shaking from the cold. I lifted my scarf to close my nose and pulled down my beanie. I saw Ethan leaning against the car, busy on his phone. He turned around and looked at me. He smiled "come on, let's go" he said like a exited child. I giggled and got into the warm car.

Ethan started the car with a soft grumble. It slowly started to move forward going off in a direction I've never seen before.

After a short ride we got to the frozen pond. It was quiet, no people around for miles. They were all probably at home busy sleeping in their warm beds. I got out of the car and walked to the pond. My feet slowly being engulfed by the snow as I'm walking. We sat a bench which was also frozen and placed the skated on our feet. "You need to tie them tightly around your feet" he said tapping my skate. I look at him and place the skates on my feet I started to tie them, but not tight enough. "Ugg" I groan. "Here, let me help you" Ethan said taking my leg and placing it over his lap starting to tie a knot.

I stood up after Ethan was done and slowly walked over to the small pond, Ethan quickly got on the ice and started skating. "This is a mistake" I say looking at Ethan skate. "I don't want to do this" I say shaking my head. "How you feeling" Ethan ask standing still on the ice. "This is a terrible idea" I said while Ethan beckoned me to come over. "I've never felt so uncomfortable in my life" I continued. "Want me to help" Ethan asked. He skated over to me "Hang on" I said as I slowly placed my foot on the ice. He took my hand, helping me. "I can't do it" I said laughing.

After I finally got onto the ice, Ethan skated backwards making sure I won't fall. I stood there on the ice "And now what?" I ask looking over at him. I started moving slowly while Ethan kept an eye on me from a few feet away . "I am really trying my hardest" I told him. I got to more of the middle of the pond "WHOA" I said almost falling, I regained my balance. I was trying to get to the other side of the pond when I said "I should be there in an hour" I heard a faint laugh from Ethan.

Ethan skated behind me from left to right almost touching my back. I stiffed "Stop doing that, because that's terrifying" I said holding my arms up a bit. Ethan took my hand as I was close to the end of the pond where there is a small fence which I can hold onto for a while. He helped me get to the fence and placed my hand on it. "Wonderful, well done" he said as I held onto the fence with my dear life.

"Oh come on (Y/n)" Ethan laughed as I was standing there for five minutes. He took my hands and slowly taught me how to move my feet. I started to do just what he said but fell face first into the ice. I caught myself with my knees. Ethan let out a laugh "What is happening to you" he said placing his arms under my armpits helping me stand back to my feet, I laughed as he almost fell in the progress.

I got my balance back and started skating again only to fall back down every time. The last fall I had I just sat on the ice, watching Ethan skate around me. "That was my first and last time ice skating" I laughed. "Let's he back to the car" I said standing up. I began making my way back over to the edge of the pond, when Ethan took my arm and pulled me back to him. I crashed into his chest his arms quickly went around my waist holding me upright. He looked at me and smiled, he leaned down pressing his chapped lips to mine in a small kiss.

"Thank you for doing this with me" he said pulling back from the kiss. "Yeah, yeah. Now let's get off of this death trap and cuddle in bed with some hot chocolate" I said turning back around taking his hand in mine and skating back to the edge. As we both got of the ice we took the skated off and placed our warm boots back on.

We walked to the car, went back to Ethan's house and cuddled with hot chocolate in our hands watching my favorite movie. 'What a great day' I thought cuddling closer to him.
