SAGE

"You know he wanted to give you this when you got back..."

Nathaniel handed me what looked like a pistol. The bright silver was cool against my skin. running my fingers over the wood, I felt some words engraved at the bottom

'Stay safe, I love you Sage'

I blinked away the tears that started to well up in my eyes and put the gun on the table. God, Luca was going to everything I could throw at him shoved up his ass so far, He would be choking on it.

"Where does this rat hide out anyway? We need to know exactly where to go to get my man back."

"Well..." Nathaniel started sheepishly, "We don't exactly know where he is...? We have options, sure we do, but no definitve place to find him."

"So what do you suppose we do?"

I closed my eyes and thought about it for a moment. How could we figure out where he is?

"We could just ask him," Seinfeld piped up, and we both turned our heads to face him.

"Ask him?!" We questioned in unison.

"Yes, ask him. Didn't you tell me that he or his people texted you through Ethan's phone? If Ethan isn't who you were talking to, chances are that you can reach Luca through whoever is on the other side."

"Oh, wow... I'm in love with a genius," Nath murmured, coming behind Seinfeld and pulling him by the waist into him.

"Oh shut up." He blushed and nuzzled into Nath's side.

I rolled my eyes with a smile and turned my attention to the lump on the couch. Milla had been silent this whole time. She was plotting something, I just didn't know what.

I jabbed her in the side hard,  and she bolted upright. Looking at her, there wasn't an ounce of fear on her face. There was.... peace?

God, I needed to get this crazy bitch out of my life.

. . .

ETHAN

My eyes shot open.

'Where the fuck am I?' I thought to myself while slowly sitting up.

I was in a field of some type of herb. The leaves were a soft muted green, and it smelled faintly of tea.

The sky was bluer than normal, clouds extra fluffy, and even the sun shone brighter than I ever remembered. Standing up I could see nothing but this field in all directions, except for a few silhouettes of mountains in the very far distance.

Suddenly I felt hands wrap around my waist from behind, and a familiar scent invade my nostrils.

"Do you know what this herb is called?" Her velvety voice asked in my ear, and I felt at peace.

"Sage!" I swiftly turned and squeezed her in my arms. God, she felt the exact same. Squishy and firm in the right places, hair just as soft, and she smelled like home. She smelled like my home.

"I'm so sorry for leaving you. This is all my fault. If I had just listened to what you were telling me in the first place none of this would've happened. I'm not letting you go... never again."

She just held me tighter in response, and I let all my unshed tears fall. I had never cried so hard in my life. I just cried, and finally let her support me.
