Chapter Nine

Friday was here and I was nervous. I'm not even a player and I'm nervous. I was feeling bad about breaking up with Parker later. There would be a party after the game, win or loss. Lucas and I had seen eachother on Wednesday at modling. He was there with his mom and we'd met up when he came in. Shed pushed him into the photo with me and I enjoyed a full fifteen minutes of staged kisses, and just his holding me in his arms. When he'd finished his mom took a coffee break and I enjoyed another thirty minutes in the back of the studio with him.

I relived all these moments in my head as I searched through my closet. The floor looked like my closet had puked. I couldn't decide what to wear, and it had to be perfect! I mean, I'm currently charming two guys here! Oh-Kay. Straight leg jeans, a white....ugh! I didn't know! Let's look at the dresses...

I finally found something. It was a low purple scoopneck shirt and straight leg jeans, accompanied by purple six inches the matched the shirt perfectly. I pulled on my black leather jacket and found a purple purse in the back of my closet and sprinted downstairs, my spiral curls bouncing on my shoulder blades. My bangs were getting a bit long - I'd get it trimmed Sunday. I ate a bowl of fruit and ran out the door early, planning to meet Lucas before. We met in Starbucks.

"Hey." he kissed me goodmorning. "You look amazing."

"Thanks." I kissed him back. We each go a coffee and sat down on a couch facing eachother by the window. I could tell he was nervous - but more excited - about the championship game.

I pulled him aside outside the store.

"Seeing as I probably won't get another moment alone with you, I'm going to wish you good luck now." I said. I put my hand on his shoulders and titled my head up to his lips.

"I think I'll do amazing, now." he kissed me again, his tong running over my teeth. I smiled when he pulled back.

"I know you willl." I squeezed his hand and followed him to school in my car.

"I thought your house was in the other direction?" Parker commented after kissing me.

"Went to Starbucks." I said. "Lucas came in and we were talking about the game."

"Oh." he looked uncomfortable.

"Thats it." I kissed him again in front of Lucas, making sure Parker thought nothing was going on. I saw the pain on Lucas' face and felt a twinge of guilt: both for cheating on Parker and hurting them both. I didn't want to let parkr go because I felt that if I did I'd be making a huge mistake. But on the other hand, NOT being with Lucas wasthe wrong thing! I didn't know what to do!

We were all sitting on the bleachers when it happened. There was a huge snap and a row where fans had been jumping fell. There were screams all over the gym as others falling. Those on the front rows close to the floor flooded onto the court. The team members shouted out, not realizing what was happening. Lucas and Parker both looked up at the same time, shouting my name over all the other screams and my row, three from the top, collasped.

"TIFFANY!" I screamed, falling down, then my back and head hit the floor, and there was a stinging overwhelming pain in my hip, then everything went black, screams echoing in my head.

~*~Lucas POV~*~

The idiots! They were all over the court! What the hell did they think they were doing?! Parker looked up to the bleachers and I followed his eyes. A row of the bleacher had colapsed. Tiffiny! I found her with my eyes.

"TIFFANY!" I yelled. Parker called in the same instant and I heard her scream. I shoved the refs out of my way, still calling for her. She fell theorgh the bleachers, and I kept moving, my heart racing in fear and desperation. She could die!

"CALL 9-1-1!!!" people were screaming. The refs were both on their phones, and the teachers were settling the students. Mr. Granite came and tried to pull me back.

"stop!" I swung my fist around in an arch and hit him in the nose. I hope I didn't break it but that wasthe last thing on my mind. He was yelling at my but I could see blood on the gym floor. Was it Tiffany's? I roughly shoved aside planks and metal cut into my calf. I ignored it, seeing her blue Choos. My heart kept seeing her shoes. Part of the bleachers came down on the left. I could hear sirens. There she was!

"Tiffany!" i called again. Her head had hit her arm, but she was bleeding there was a heavy metal beam just above her hip bone. I used all the strength I had left in me to pull it off of her beautiful, fragile body. Men came flossing in and pointed at me. Get him out. I took off my jersey and tied it around her bleeding arm. My tank top was thin and wouldn't help, but I had to try. I wrapped this around her thigh, tryig to stop the blood. I picked her up as the men came forward.

"Son, I'm going to have to ask you to-"

"I need to get her in an ambulance!" I shouted to him.

"Son, leave-"

"She needs an ambulance!!" I shouted again. Someone else came up to us with a stretcher. I laid her carefully down. They tore off the jersey first and bandaged her arm, then her leg. I looked around. There were other students hurt. Boys and girls all over.

"Go with her, son." the man clapped my shoulder.

"Thank you." I nodded, trying to smile. Mr. Granite caugh my eye, but merely nodded as I followed Tiffany's stretcher. I held onto her hand as we were rushed off.
