Chapter 23

Nicki pov-
Once we got there Meek got the balloons and we went to the door I knocked and once I seen who opened it my stomach dropped to my ass "Well hello" Robert my father whom I fucking hated said. I gave him a simple smile and walked in to find my mom because I was ready to spazz the FUCK OUT, "Mom what the fuck is he doing here?" I asked not caring about cursing "Onika watch your mouth when talking to me and Jelani is his son to what do you expect for him to not find out?" my mom asked "I expect you to be smart enough to not give him your address that's what I expect you know what we went through trying to get away from him and you just let him know where you live Jelani would be heated and you out of all people should know this I also understand that Jelani is his son but you could have at least just gave him the vigils location and not your home location" I said "Nicki I know that you mad and all but you need to calm down the baby don't need all of this" Meek said "Baby?" my dad said walking in "Yep, baby im pregnant" I said "Oh well congrats to you Onika can we talk for a moment?" my dad asked I really wanted to curse him clean out make meek beat his ass then leave but I didn't. "Sure talk" I said "Umm in private please?" he asked I looked at Meek and he gave me the do it look so I did. We went in my moms room and I cracked the door not trusting him at all "So what do you wanna talk about?" I asked "Nicki I just wanna say that I'm sorry even though one sorry won't fix all the problems I've caused you and your brothers" he said "Honestly at this point no amount of sorry can fix anything and I don't trust you at all so I'm not really believing it because as many times as you said sorry you haven't changed" I said.

Meek pov- I was talking to the girls when Nickis younger brother Miciah came over to me "Hey Meek can I talk to you for a sec?" he said looking worried "Yea what's up?" I asked walking off with him "As we all know Nic has a smart mouth and my dad hates it so he used to hit her I think you should go stand by the door and listen just in case" he said obviously worried for his sister "Ok where are they?" I asked "In my moms room" he said "Ight good looking out" I said walking off. I was standing outside the door and Nicki was crying I wanted to go in but I didn't "Ok well I just got out the hospital and im not trying to go back" she said im assuming about to come out so I went in the bathroom which wasn't far. After I came out Nicki's dad was standing outside of Carols room door "Hey are you Nickis boyfriend?" her dad asked seeing me "Yea" I said. After talking to Nicki's dad it seemed like he was sincere about his apology but that wasn't any of my businesses to get involved. I went to the living room to see people leaving meaning it was time to head to the park, "Meek can I ride with Rika and Candi?" Nicki asked "Yea where are yo car keys though?" I asked since I was going to drive her car she handed them to me and I went and got in, I was sitting there waiting for somebody to leave first so I could follow. I looked up to see Ciah standing outside holding balloons looking confused "Come on you can ride with me if you want to" I said rolling the window down. He came and got in putting the balloons in the back "Thank you cause I did not wanna ride with my mom and dad" he said "He don't got a car?" I asked "He does but it's at his house and he don't stay down here he just landed earlier today and my mom went to get him" he said "You don't got a car?" I asked "Yea" "Oh how old are you?" "Im 23" he said "You a youngin" I said "Yep" Ciah said "You got a girlfriend?" I asked as we were at a red light "No my last one tried to fake pregnant after Nicki beat her up for talking reckless to my mom and Nicki will NOT play about our mom" he said which made me laugh "That woman is something else" I said "She is and her last boyfriend was a crazy controlling abusive ass nigga so I had to handle his ass" he said "Handle as in kill?" I asked "Naw but I wanted to I shot him in the chest and that bitch didn't did surprisingly" Ciah said as we pulled up to the park. Me and Ciah gave some people balloons for when we released them, I guess her mom wanted mostly everybody to have one seeing the fact that it was waaay more people than I expected.

Nicki pov-
Me and the girls were standing together observing everything "Where's Thembi?" I asked just now noticing she wasn't here Candi and Kaila both looked at Rika "Sherika what happened?" I asked "We got into it" she said "About?" I asked wanting details "She got mad because I told her she needs to get rid of her no good as jail bird boyfriend and she got mad and started going at the mouth" Rika said "Then she was getting all in my face saying how he came before me on any day and I told her to get back before she got slapped" Rika said "Mmm" was all I said "Rika was right though she does need to leave him he's no good and very controlling" Candi said "I get that she'd mad at you but if she were in this situation I would still come support her no matter what we got going on" I said "Right but she wanted to stay at the shop so whatever" Rika said. After a while of the candles being lit we were about to release the balloons, before we did my mom spoke and we let them go on the count of three. "Im proud of you" Meek said "Why?" I asked "You didn't cry none tonight" he said and I had just realized that I didn't but I knew for sure Monday would be the hardest day of my life seeing mt brother for the last time, in a casket. Meek was talking to Ciah and my two cousins while I was standing against my car on my phone "Nicki" I heard looking up seeing favorite my cousin Ariyah "Hiiiiii riyahhhhhhhh" I said giving her a hug "Heyyy I missed youu" she said hugging me "Aunty told me that somebody's having a babyyyyy" she said looking at my belly "Yes I am" I said smiling doing a little dancd "where's dad?" she asked I pointed to Meek "The tall darkskin?" she asked "Yeppppp dats all me" I said "Come on let me introduce you to him". We walked over to Meek "Ariyah this is Robert but he goes by Meek, Meek this is my favorite cousin Ariyah but she goes by Riyah" I said introducing them.
