Broadway, Brooklyn, and Donnan perched on the side of the building, keeping an eye on the street below. The rest of Lilias' clan stood guard around Hudson as they also mourned for their leader. A whirring sound interrupted the night and a bolt of white electricity hit where the three crouching male gargoyles. Broadway and Donnan were thrown back onto the roof while Brooklyn caught himself on the edge. He looked up to see who had fired at them and gaped at the figure in black.

"It can't be," Brooklyn said.

"There's no way he could've survived that crash," Broadway agreed as all the gargoyles on the roof ran for cover. Brooklyn was pushed off by one of the blasts and Aileen followed to make sure he was ok.

"This is the human responsible for Hudson and Lilias?" Aileen growled as she glided near Brooklyn.

"Yeah," he told her and watched as her eyes lit up, casting a soft red glow over her features.

"He will pay for what he has done!" Aileen turned around sharply and sped towards MacBeth. Ivar tackled her, knocking her out of the path of one of MacBeth's shots.

"We've got to make him follow us," he suggested as Broadway took to the air. "Lead him away from Hudson." He looked back and gave a small nod to Shona, Elspeth, and Bonnie who were hiding out of sight to MacBeth on the rooftop. Donnan had ran next to Broadway and joined the rest of them in the sky. MacBeth followed the five gargoyles away from the sleeping Hudson.

"I've been looking for you," MacBeth said.

"He must mean you two since I doubt he knew about us before tonight," Donnan commented. The five of them continued to evade MacBeth's shots as they led him further away from Hudson.

"Farewell, my enemies." He continued to fire at the gargoyles.

"Does he just hate all gargoyles?" Ivar asked when he and Brooklyn were close enough for him to actually hear the question.

"It seems that way," Brooklyn growled in response as the two were forced to dodge another shot.

"At least we led him away from Hudson," Aileen said encouragingly to the entire group.

"Yeah. Now if someone would only lead him away from us." Donnan dodged yet another shot.

"It's almost dawn," Broadway told the others. "We'll be sitting ducks. Besides we got to nail him. He's the only one who can cure Hudson." Donnan and he circled up and around to get MacBeth from behind.

"After which, I'm sure our clan would love to have a couple words with him." Ivar's eyes glowed with anger.

"You'll have to do better than that," MacBeth taunted as he turned to look at the two gargoyles. He turned abruptly and Broadway barely managed to pull up in time. Donnan wasn't so lucky and hovered in place as he shook off the collision. The others continues to a persian carpet storehouse. Brooklyn tried to tackle MacBeth but was easily thrown off. Ivar sped towards him, his eyes glowing. MacBeth batted him away with ease and he beat his wings as he groaned from the encounter. Broadway continued to glide around the human as the others found places to land. Ivar landed on a rooftop with Aileen at the same time Goliath, Elisa, and Lexington did. Goliath set down Elisa and looked at the fight that was continuing above their heads.

"MacBeth," he breathed. "And alive." He went to take off but Elisa and Lexington stopped him long enough that he turned to stone before he could. Broadway was still in the air though. The other gargoyles watched in horror as they all turned to stone. He started to fall to the ground, now fragile stone. Thinking quickly, Elisa pulled out her gun and shot the rope on the crane that held up a crate of carpets. It crashed to the ground and the carpets provided enough padding that Broadway didn't crumble to pieces. Elisa sighed and leaned back against Goliath's statue in relief.

"Trophies," MacBeth laughed before flying away.

The next night All of the other gargoyles gathered around Broadway cheerfully.

"Jalapena!" Brooklyn exclaimed as he glided up to the rooftop. "You're still alive! It's a miracle!"

"Yes," Goliath confirmed. "A miracle named Elisa." The other three gargoyles smiled at them; happy that Broadway was still alive yet sad that such a miracle had not happened for Lilias.

"What I don't get is MacBeth," Lexington wondered aloud, dampening the atmosphere with the mere mention of that rotten human's name. "Why did he cut and run?"

"Yeah, good question," Brooklyn added. "He keeps saying that he wants us as trophies, but why didn't he come back for us while we were stone."

Aileen gasped and looked at Ivar. "The others!" she exclaimed before taking off. Everyone else followed after as she rushed to where they had left a stone Hudson and three other gargoyles. Hudson's statue stood on the rooftop, still as stone.

"No sign of MacBeth," Broadway said as he scanned the skies quickly.

"I still want to know how he survived through that crash," Brooklyn growled. "And why he keeps attacking us?"

"It's almost as if he's trying to keep us off guard," Goliath pondered.

"While something else is going on," Ivar finished for him. They didn't have time to continue due to an all too familiar shot going off at their feet. Everyone lunged out of the way, some taking to the sky to avoid being hit.

"Keep him away from Hudson," Ivar and Goliath commanded at the same time as they both leapt off the building.

"Farewell, my enemies," MacBeth said as he turned back and shot Brooklyn into Broadway. They cartwheeled back and grabbed onto the edge of the rooftop to avoid falling off.

"Ok," Brooklyn muttered, "this is getting old."

"Here," Bonnie said as she leaned over the edge and extended a hand down to him. Shona did the same with Broadway. Ivar and Donnan were shot down and landed next to the four with a groan.

"He's right," Donnan huffed as he propped himself up. "This is getting old." The other five gargoyles who were still in the sky readied themselves for another round, but MacBeth had a different idea. None of the gargoyles were close enough to prevent the human from firing at Hudson's fragil statue.

"Hudson!" Goliath exclaimed as his mentor became a pile of rubble next to Lilias' already broken form. He landed and looked at the new mound and clenched his fists. His eyes radiated white with a furious growl as he turned to go after MacBeth. Aileen had a similar idea and approached MacBeth's craft. Before she could get within arms reach, he shot her down. However, her actions provided enough of a distraction that Goliath was able to board the craft while MacBeth's back was turned. He reached forward and crumpled MacBeth's gun as if it were no more than simple paper. MacBeth turned around, laying his hands on Goliath's chest and shocked him. Goliath grunted in pain as he pushed through it.

"Murderer!" he yelled at the human as he punched him through the stomach. Instead of blood--and likely organs--wires sparked and jumped around the hole that Goliath had created. Goliath was surprised as well and looked at the broken robot with a shocked expression.

"You'll have to do... better... than... that," the robot said slowly as it lost power and broke down even more. It fell of the craft onto an adjacent rooftop and exploded.
