Perrie could definitely see it.

Jade really didn't like the twins. Perrie noticed the fake laughs she threw in, the exaggerated smiles. The twins didn't even like Jade either.

The tension in the room was awfully thick but no one wanted to admit they didn't like the other person. Perrie seemed to be the reason the conversation still kept going, she had to act innocent and oblivious to the hatred between Jade and the twins. She also had to stay silent about why she now agreed with Jade, about how the twins were not actually good friends.

Perrie was silently dying on the inside. She was so close to Jade, Jade was adjacent to her, she could lean over to her left and just whisper into Jade's ear, "Please call the police, the twins are forcing me to stay here." Then, Jade would immediately rush to action and help Perrie from the twins. It would be that easy.

But it was easier than it looked. The twins had their eyes on her, if she did one move wrong, they would also have to bring Jade into the same mess, and Perrie definitely did not want anything to happen to her. Earlier, Perrie even wanted to scratch her wrist, at a scar that had started the heal over and was getting itchy, but her arm was nudged at by Lucy, who was sitting right next to her. Jade wasn't allowed to see the tiniest peek of bruises and scars on her arms.

That's what hurt Perrie the most. Lying to her best friend. She had to pretend that she was perfectly fine. She had to talk and make jokes with the twins, like the time they had spent with each other the past week had been nothing but fun, even though it was rather the opposite. And Perrie was so close, yet so far from telling Jade that she had actually been right the whole time, everything happening at this moment was an act, and how she actually needed help.

Sweat coated her back and made her palms clammy. However, she couldn't say anything, nothing at all. Perrie's throat went dry and she felt her head begin pounding, but she still acted like everything was alright.

The conversation was almost over. Perrie could feel it. Soon, Jade would say how enjoyable it had been to talk to the twins and see Perrie, and then say she had to go. Perrie wished for it so hard she even began making eye contact with Jade. She couldn't stand being in the same room as Jade and not being able to tell her what was going on when she was alone with the twins.

"Well girls, thank you so much for your time, but I have to go back to Newcastle tonight, so I'm afraid I have to go now," Jade told the twins while getting up from the chair she had been sitting on, and Perrie couldn't have felt more relieved.

"Aww, Jeed, I'll miss you!" Perrie whined and stood up to hug Jade. She even gave Jade an unexpected strong hug, because Perrie was actually unsure if she was even going to be able to see Jade again or not.

"We start work again soon, we'll see each other then," Jade replied. Perrie smiled back, wanting to hug Jade harder. She couldn't though, one of the twins came up behind her and pulled back on the fabric of her hoodie. Reluctantly, Perrie let go of Jade.

Perrie led Jade out of house, even waiting for Jade's uber to arrive. She was sad to see Jade go. Watching Jade leaving in a car, quickly disappearing from her line of sight, it made Perrie feel uneasy. Because now, she had to go back to the twins, and there was no more temporary escape for her.

She walked up to the entrance of the house, where Lucy had been keeping watch on her the whole time.

"Don't even think about getting out of the house without asking next time," Lucy scolded Perrie and pulled her into the house. She decided not to even reply and just walked down the corridor.
