January 27th,

It's freezing here.

Mom said that it was negative 47 degrees farenheit outside.

We were forbidden to leave the house today, everyone within the small city of Galena, Alaska.

We moved here after most of America was hit by the world's most poweful nuclear bomb, the Little Bull, they called it.  It hit right in the center of the US and killed millions instantly.  Millions are currently living with the effects of nuclear reactions, they will live short lives.  The bomb is what started the war.  It was so unexpected, much like Pearl Harbor, but it had much more of an effect.

When the missle was launched, my family was away, on vacation actually in Hawaii.  We have been saving for that trip all last year and we finally got to go.  My mom, sister, and I would be going to Hawaii.

Thankfully, Hawaii, Alaska, and many of the states bordering the oceans or the Gulf of Mexico were left partially untouched or fully unaffected.  We would have blown up the countries or more so dictators to bits if our most powerful weapons weren't sabotaged.  Scientists and the few political leaders that are left are getting to work on that as I write this.  Thankfully, there is no war here, currently, soldiers have been shipped halfway across the globe to fight for what's left of our nation.  We used to think we were the most powerful country in the world, but it was a lie.  The government was hiding the power of the other countries to protect us.  And now, look where that got us.

When then news came to Honolulu, people went insane just trying to get plane tickets.  But there weren't any plane tickets to their homes, most of them were gone.  Most of their friends and family, gone.  Their old lives, gone.

After a two month waiting period, the food supply was starting to run low, so they got some planes running.  A select few tourists got to go to California, but only tourists with kids, or kids in California could go.  So my family, along with about fifty to sixty other families boarded the large jet they had brought to Honolulu. Watching young couples with hands in hands and a look of desperation on their faces, I felt the plane move quickly towards the end of the runway and lurch forward into the air.

My grandparents lived in California at the time, in fact they were watching over my two fat orange tabby cats and my gray and white husky named Luna, yes after Luna Lovegood.

Thank gosh we didn't leave my pets at my old home in Nevada.  They would have been all gone or worse suffering from nuclear symptoms.  I couldn't bear to see my sweet, innocent little pets in such pain.

Our old home was destroyed, blown to bits.  It wasn't just one bomb they dropped, it was several others that were less powerful than the Little Bull.  I'm surprised that California was spared, it must have been a mistake.

We stayed with my mother's parents for a while, but my mother decided we were best off away from the wrecked state of our country.

She decided to move to Alaska.
