Dear Nellie,
It's finally the weekend. This week of school has been rough, so many tests. It's like they're trying to ignore what's happening around us. I can't get away from it though, I'm reminded every time I look into your empty room.
I wonder if captured American soldiers are put into concentration camps, kind of like the jews in WWII. I wonder if they are suffering horrible fates. Perhaps many are just killed onsight during battles.
No news about Tobias. Nel, I think he may actually still be alive. The millitary tries to send notices to family members of a deceased soldier. His family promised to tell mom and I if they ever get one. And they haven't yet.
I've befriended Liam, the guy I told you about earlier. At school, he's the only friend I have. And I think I'm his only friend as well. But I can see a lot of girls like him. Even I have to admit that he's attractive.
Oh sorry, you have no idea what he looks like. Let's see...
hair color: brown
skin color: tan, like Hispanic or something, maybe Mediterranean
eye color: blue, ocean blue
body shape: very thin, he'd make a great runner
hair cut: messy, medium guy length
eye shape: almond
I think that's enough for you to know the gist of it. As you can see, he's charming and handsome. Girls swoon over him. Some try to get him to talk to them. It never works for them. I wonder about why he wanted to become friends with me.
Sorry about today's letter. I know it's kind of all over the place. I guess I just have a lot on my mind.
Love always,
Kaliah
