"Welcome to Mystic Falls"
Thalia Monroe turned to her friend sitting in the driver's seat as they passed the city limit sign on their way to the Virginian small-town, "Population consists of vampires, their walking blood bags, witches and probably ghosts"
"And now, werewolves" Hayley Marshall added.
The girls, who were werewolves themselves, had been sent to Mystic Falls by a professor they had come across during their search for their families. Atticus Shane, the professor, had promised to give them some information as long as they went through with what he had planned for Mystic Falls. Fortunately for the girls, some fellow werewolves had let it slip that they were heading to Mystic Falls to protect a common friend of theirs. Naturally, Hayley and Thalia used this as the perfect cover story for why they were in town. They would claim to visit fellow werewolf Tyler Lockwood in his hometown, giving them a way to lie under the radar whilst helping Shane behind the scenes.
"I see one problem with this plan" Hayley spoke as they drove through the downtown area of Mystic Falls, "Remember what Tyler said about the sire bond? He said that he felt like he owed Klaus"
Thalia looked at her, "Where are you going with this?"
"Those hybrids watching him right now probably feel the same way and if they do, they will report right back to Klaus"
"Then we'll just have to avoid that" Thalia decided, "And Klaus"
"It's Klaus Mikaelson we're talking about. You know, the evil and psychotic original hybrid guy who will kill us the moment he catches a whiff of what we're doing?"
Despite not being that much older than Hayley, Thalia still felt responsible for her as one would a sibling. The Marshall girl was as close to a sister to Thalia as you could get. Not to mention, she had been the one to drag Hayley into the mess with Shane so she felt extra responsible, "If you wanna pull out, now is your chance. I can cover for you with Shane"
Hayley shook her head, "No, you're right. Shane is our only lead and we can't afford to lose it"
According to the professor, the girls' families hailed from the same parts and there was a chance that they might have known of each other.
"Are you sure?" Thalia asked again as they drove up the driveway and parked the car in front of a mansion.
"Yes, I'm sure" Hayley answered as she killed the engine and pocketed the car keys. She looked over at her friend when she didn't move to get out, "Are you coming?"
Thalia shook her head, "You go ahead. Someone needs to update Shane"
The Marshall girl remained in her seat for a moment as if she wanted to asses her friend on her own before deciding to head inside. Thalia watched Hayley walk towards the house and waited for her to shut the door behind her before she picked up her phone and called Shane.
