HAYLEY AND I WALKED OUT OF THE SHACK IN THE BAYOU. New werewolves had shown up in the Bayou and flooded the encampments while we slept. I had no idea who they were

"You've gotta be kidding me. Seriously, what is going on? Who are all these people? Why are they standing out here all weird and lurky?" Hayley asked

"They've come from all over. All the packs" Eve spoke as she approached us. We watched the humans that were lined up, watching us.

"Why? To see the babies?" I asked, "They aren't even born yet"

The door behind us opened and Oliver stepped out, "Forget the babies. These freaks, they come here to see you, Hayley. You know, given the place your parents held in pack hierarchy, maybe they think you're gonna be the long-lost werewolf messiah or something"

Hayley sighed, "Great. No pressure or anything"

ELIJAH SHOWED UP IN THE BAYOU. He invited the werewolves to some witch festival.

"Your people are uniquely poised to set an example for the rest of the French Quarter. Which is why it's important for the wolves to attend" Elijah said

"Thanks, but no thanks," I told him

"Let's hear the man out," Oliver said, I turned to him he was acting strangely

"The witches are the ones that cursed our pack. And they've been nothing but crap to me since I first came to town. No. We're not going" Hayley told Elijah

"It's a new day in the Quarter. I agree with Oliver. If we're gonna coexist, we have to play ball. We'll send a representative with a gift" Jackson said

I walked away but I don't get far until Elijah caught up with me, "That was too easy. Don't trust him. Don't trust any of them" He looked back at Oliver and Jackson

"I'm sorry, I do trust them. That's my family"

I STEPPED OUT OF THE SHACK.
Jackson and Oliver stood outside, talking. They stopped as soon as I approached them, "What is this? High School?"

Oliver looked up, "Why don't you take the hint and mind your own business?"

I raised my brows at him before grabbing his arm, twisting it behind his back and pushing him against the wall face-first, "I'm the alpha, this is my pack and you were talking to my little brother, all of that makes it my business"
