Me, Nick Fury and Maria Hill sat in silence the whole journey in the helicopter to S.H.I.E.L.D, apparently there was something unexpected happening with the Tesseract and Fury was told to come as soon as possible. Because it isn't safe for him to go alone, me and Maria were chosen to go with him to ensure he arrives in one piece, not that he wouldn't without us knowing him.
We were almost there as the helicopter started flying a bit higher to get to the large area of buildings in the middle of nowhere - I still didn't understand why they build this S.H.I.E.L.D facility so far away from civilisation...

A voice coming from the speakers dotted in and around the building brought me out of my thoughts, it was telling everyone they had to evacuate and get to their vehicles as quickly as possible. If they're leaving then why are we going in?
We finally landed on a helicopter pad near the entrance to one of the larger building that I guessed had the Tesseract in it somewhere.
"Kirstie, come on! Let's go!" Maria nodded towards the now open doors of the flying machine. I nodded back at her, there was no need for a proper response. Nick followed us out after and turned around to see one of the agents walking towards us.

"How bad is it?" Fury asked Agent Coulson while me and Maria stood a little out of the way.
"That's the problem sir, we don't know." Phil replied, removing the dark glasses he had been wearing when we landed.
"Show me." Was the short response the agent got from him before he started walking off in his own direction. Phil took the lead and lead us to the elevator inside the building next door to us. The elevator was quick and only took a few seconds to get us to the right floor: the one holding the infinity stone.

"Dr. Selvig read an energy surge from the Tesseract 4 hours ago," Phil Coulson managed to say while taking long strides, trying to keep up with Director Fury.
"NASA didn't authorise Selvig to go to test phase." The tall man with the eyepatch looked down at his Agent with the same amount as emotion as always, none.
"He wasn't testing it, he wasn't even in the room. Spontaneous event."
"It just turned itself on?" I questioned Coulson, doubting him a little bit although deep down I knew he was telling the truth - he would never lie about anything as serious as this.
"Where are the energy levels now?" The Director looked around a bit to try and see where his Agent was leading him exactly.
"Climbing, when Selvig couldn't shut it down we ordered Evac."
"How long to get everyone out?"
"Campus should be clear in the next half hour." Agent Coulson was now walking his normal pace, unlike me and Maria who were trying our hardest to keep up.
"Do better!" was all Nick said and Coulson stopped walking, stepped to the side and nodded before turning around and walking in another direction.

"Sir, evacuation could be futile." Hill spoke up as the three of us headed down a lot of metal, curved stairs towards another very large room.
"We should tell them to go back to sleep?" He replied sarcastically with no emotion what so ever.
"If we can't control the Tesseract's energy there may not be a minimum safe distance." I joined in, agreeing with Maria on this one.
"I need you to make sure the phase 2 prototypes are shipped out." Nick Fury looked behind him at Agent Hill and nodded.
"Sir is that really our priority right now?" She disagreed with him, continuing to walk alongside him.
"Until such time when the world ends we will act as if it intends to spin on!" He grabbed the railing to the right of him with both hands and looked at the brown-haired agent before him, "Clear all the tech below, I want every piece of phase 2 on truck and gone."
"Yes sir..." She walked off ahead of us, "With me." Maria walked off with 2 other Agents in a different direction to where me and Fury were heading.

We both entered a large hall with white walls that were about 30 or 40 feet high. There was loads of technical equipment and I didn't know what most of it was used for since I wasn't actually a scientist myself although my brother, well adoptive brother, was a surgeon. He was called Stephen Strange while I was Kirstie Strange, I wasn't sure what my real name was though: my parents never told me, every time I asked them even when I was an adult they said I was too young.
