It was dark outside, the only people in the Quinjet were me, Natasha, Steve, Tony and our prisoner: Loki. I was sitting in the co-pilot seat, wearing a headset that was identical to Nat's. Mountains and hills we flew past with incredible speed,
'We should be back at the Helicarrier in no time' Was the only thought that was keeping me from going insane because of the silence. Tony and Steve were standing in the centre of the jet, both without helmets on - I would've told them to sit down but they knew what they were doing.
"He saying anything?" Fury's voice came through over the Quinjet radio.
"Nothing at all." I spoke into my headset, putting one of my hands up to ear so I could hear him better.
"Just get him here, we're low on time." And with that the conversation ended and we were back to complete silence. Again."I don't like it." Steve said simply, talking about the fight he had with Loki back in Germany.
"What? Rock of Ages giving up so easily?" Stark replied, looking into the eyes of his helmet that he had personally engineered.
"I don't remember it being that easy. This guy packs a wallop." He gestured to the God who was strapped down to a chair on the far right side of the jet.
"Still, you were pretty spry, for an older fellow. What's your thing? Pilates?" The millionaire questioned, still gazing into his red helmet as if he was talking to that instead of the man beside him.
"What?" Rogers was clearly confused about his friend's comment.
"It's like calisthenics. You might have missed a couple of things. Y'know, doing time as a Cap-sicle." He finally looked towards the soldier and only now took in what he was actually wearing; the red and white around his waist really went well with the blue colour on the rest of his uniform."Fury didn't tell me he was calling you in." I had to agree with Steve, the only reason I knew about Stark was because of my high ranking at SHIELD.
"Yeah, there's a lot of things Fury doesn't tell you." The two of them just continued to make conversation - I wish I was that good at being social around people I know little to nothing about.Out of nowhere - and I mean nowhere - a bolt of lightning struck about 30 feet ahead of the jet. More and more began to land around us: lightning isn't naturally like this!
"Where is this all coming from?" I said out loud, hoping someone had an answer to my question. I turned around to the others only to see them glaring at Loki, who was now looking up at the roof of the Quinjet as if to expect something.
"What's the matter? Scared of a little lightning?" The soldier asked him: it would be funny if he was since his brother was the God of Thunder.
"I'm not overly fond of what follows..." Loki's voice was quiet and sounded surprisingly innocent compared to when he talked to me back at the gala. It was like he had changed in a matter of minutes from a villain to a victim.I large crash came from the top of the jet and shook us from our previous positions. Stark and Cap had crashed into each other and Loki was leaning against the corner like he was hiding from the shake. Looking around for any sign of damage, I got up and ran over to Loki to ask him some questions about how he knew what was going to happen. I didn't get the chance to ask because I noticed Steve and Tony had put their helmets back on: I took that as a sign to get myself ready too so I went swiftly over to where I kept my armour.
Natasha speeded up and and Captain Rogers grabbed his shield from one of the seats while Tony pressed the button on the side of the Quinjet that would make the ramp open - a very bad idea!
"What are you doing?" Steve called out to Tony. I moved towards Tony and as soon as the figure jumped down and landed on the ramp in front of us I knew who it was.
"Look out!" I yelled towards Stark before the new Odinson brother launched his hammer at him and sent him flying to the other side of the room. The God ripped Loki out of his seat and took off without warning straight after.
"Now there's that guy..." Tony smacked the side of his helmet, trying to get it back in place again.
"Another Asgardian?" Natasha called from the pilot seat behind us as I put a mask on that covered my eyes up: it looked cliché, a bit like The Incredibles but I did the job when it came to people not knowing who I am. I also slipped a taser into my belt and a small gun just incase, I always carried a few daggers in my boots and one up each sleeve incase of emergencies.
