Nonchalant

Another whimper went off in my head making my heart ache. I stumbled a little when my vision became black and white with a trail of green light. My mind told me to follow it and I did.

I walked through many corridors before I found a small little closet. Turning the handle, I became furious instantly. My poor baby was in the corner huddled under the pale light coming from a light bulb overhead.

Picking him up gently, I quickly surveyed his fragile body. The tips of his leaves were turning a pale yellowish brown and his stem was bent slightly. The dirt around him was coarse and dry in texture showing that he hadn't been watered.

Finding my way outside somehow, I placed him near a small puddle of water before cupping both hands and pouring some of the water on him.

"Sammy are you ok?"

"Yes mama, I'm ok now" he said cheerfully "Thank you fowr saving me, I was soooo scawed mama".

"It's ok baby boy".

I was still angry as I carried Sammy to my room (I think) and placed him on the window sill to get some well needed sunlight. A bulb when off in my head as I thought of the person who could of done this to my baby. That one person..............

My vision became black and white again but this time the trail was different. Instead of being green it was a mix of white and amber, which I would usually be amazed by but not now as I followed the trail with determination.

The trail led me to a kitchen that was breathtakingly beautiful. The smooth marble countertops and the stainless steel appliances shimmered in front of me. My astonishment lasted only for a minute as my eyes zoomed onto their prey.

I slowly walked towards him and felt a sense of pride as I saw him stiffen before turning around.

"I wondered when you were going to wake up; I put all your important things in your room and the rest in a closet somewhere".

His calm voice irritated me but then I realized what his said.

"Are you implying that my son is not important?"

"What?"

The shock was quickly wiped off his face as I used one hand to lift him by his collar and threw him across the room.

He landed on a glass case, containing cutlery, smashing it to pieces.

He groaned as he got up but I punched him in the gut sending him flying through the wall.

Time to play...............
