Enjoy this video of Connor being a total Badass. NOT MY VIDEO, just found it online.
Maria's POV
Alrighty boys hop in. "Lieutenant Miller" Connor started. I looked at him. "Might I drive?" He asked with a head tilt. "Pfft. CyberLife equipped you with jokes too, huh?" I laughed. "No. I was designed to hunt deviants. Jokes are not in my programming" He said serious. "Oh. Well no. My car. I drive" I said hopping in the drivers seat. "Lieutenant. Driving is one of my many abilities. I can react to any situation faster than any human and me driving could all around be a safer alternative" He added. "Fine" I groaned. Hopping in the passenger. Hank gave me a funny look. "Yes you get back seat. If I'm not driving, it being my car I get automatic shotgun" I stuck my tongue out at Hank playfully. He laughed and hopped in. We arrived at an old abandoned building. Gavin there to greet us. "Hello Gentleman. And lady" he said winking at me. I rolled my eyes. Connor looked at me and Gavin his head tilted and his LED flashed yellow. "Got a piece of plastic as a partner? Station thinking Hanks not cut out for the streets anymore? Huh old man?" Gavin snickered. "I may be an old man but I can still kick your ass so watch it." Hank snapped. "Easy now. What about this piece of plastic? What's he here for?" Gavin said getting up in Connors face. "I'm Connor. The Android sent by CyberLife" Connor stated. Gavin looked away from Connor and to me and laughed. His laugh soon ended as he pushed Connor back a little. "You may be on deviant cases but who's to say you aren't one too? Stay out of my fucking way or I'll break you" He said in Connors face his teeth together. I pushed Gavin away. "That's enough Reed." I snapped. "Don't let a girl fight your battles for you plastic. Stand up for yourself. Or... is that against your programming?" He sneered. I kicked his knee. He grabbed his knee and yelped. "I may be a girl but don't forget who went through 4 years of US Army and kicked your ass in police training." I said grabbing his shirt collar. "Now do your job and we'll do ours" I grabbed Connors arm and we walked away. We approached the front door of the abandoned house. I reached for the handle but Connor put his arm out to stop me. "Allow me" He said. He opened the front door to reveal an Android with obvious injuries to the face. "Anyone in the house besides you?" Hank asked the mysterious Android. "No.... No Ralph is alone" the Android said with a shaky voice. "Search the house" I ordered. As Hank walked in the kitchen and Connor towards the fireplace I walked up the stairs. I got half way up before... "wait!" Connor called. "His stress level went up as you neared the stairs" Connor said. I pulled my gun out of my holster and I took another step up. "Anyone up her Ralph?" I asked. "No.... no one is upstairs" he said. "He's telling the truth" Connor said. I walked downstairs but at the base I heard something move. I noticed boxes blocking underneath the stairs. Hank stared at me and I motioned him to check under. I pointed my gun at the boxes as Hank began to move them. As Hank moved the last box Ralph grabbed me making me drop my gun. The AX400 and the girl ran out the back. Hank ran after them, I was fighting off Ralph and Connor stood there. "Connor! Don't worry about me! Go after the Android!" His LED was flashing yellow and red, as if he was deciding what to do. Obey Lieutenant Miller and follow his mission or help her. He ran at Ralph pulling him off me. He pushed him into a wall causing him to be knocked unconscious. "Connor. You-"
"No time to talk Lieutenant! We need to run!" The Android and girl jumped the fence onto the highway. Connor was almost there. Hank pulled his gun. "No Lieutenant! We need them alive!" Connor yelled. Hank lowered his gun. He began climbing the fence. I grabbed his leg. "No Connor!" I yelled. "I need to go after them!" He yelled. "Connor look at me!" I ordered and he did so. His LED solid red "Don't go Connor. You could be killed" I said. He still looked as if he wanted to go. "Please...." I whispered. His LED went yellow. He blinked a few times and his eyes held something. I couldn't tell what but he realized something.... he climbed down. "Ok" he whispered as his LED went blue, his gaze focused on the ground. "I won't go" he said looking at me. I huge sigh of relief. "I'll go call the station and make a report" I said walking out of the alley.Connors POV
Software instability ^
Something changed in Connor. Only for a moment. "Why'd you do it?" Hank asked. "I'm sorry?" Connor asked. "Why'd you disobey your mission?" Hank poked. "I was ordered not to by Lieutenant Miller" Connor said. "That's what you're programmed to say. Tell me why YOU did it" he persisted. "I don't know. The look in Lieutenant Millers eyes. They were filled with concern and fear.... for.... me? I didn't understand it. She didn't want me to go. I tried but I couldn't go." Connor said. Hank nodded. "I'll give you a minute. Join us in the car when you're ready" He said walking away.
Connor didn't tell the full truth. Something snapped in Connor. When Lieutenant Miller told him to stay he met her eyes with his. Her dark brown eyes filled with concern. Something about that look made him want to stay. Something in that moment, snapped in Connor. He felt his eyes open. As if for the first time he saw the true world, and in that moment he felt her wish was more important than his mission. No. Must just be a bug. The mission is the only thing that matters. It won't happen again Connor told himself. He fixed his tie and returned to the carAhhh! Two chapters in one day! I'm just so addicted to writing this! I hope you enjoy!!!!
