My neck was bruised from Rupert holding it tightly but I felt fine! I don't know why Connor insists on taking me to the hospital to get looked at. Doesn't matter anyway, since it happened during work the station will pay for it. "Why are we doing this?" I groaned to Connor. "Your neck has bruising, it needs to be looked at by a medical professional" he said examining my neck. "I'm fine!" I said shifting in my seat. Moving caused my ankle to hit the car door causing me to yelp. Connor looked over and saw my ankle. "Maria! Your ankle!" He said analyzing it. "It's fine Connor" I reassured him. "How did this happen?" He asked. "While I was chasing after the deviant I tripped over a plank of wood. It's just twisted!" I exclaimed. "Kid that ankle looks a lot more than twisted" Hank stated. "Your ankle has swollen 3 times the normal size. I will bring this up to the hospital when we arrive." "Ugh!" I groaned. We arrived at the hospital and Connor opened my door. Before I could get out and walk on my own Connor picked me up bridal style. I opened my mouth to speak but... "before you say 'I can walk on my own'" Connor mocked me jokingly. "I'm not letting you walk" he finished. I decided to keep my mouth shut and just let it happen. They put me in a room and told me to wait for the doctor. Hank went to the food court so it was just me and Connor in the room.
"Connor... I" I started
He looked at me and tilted his head, his LED flashed yellow.
"What you did back there.... you saved Hanks life. You saved my life too" I said. "Thank you" I managed to get out. "No need to thank me" He said smiling. "Connor, every human has a voice inside their head telling them what to do. It's called a Conscience." I began. "Conscience" he whispered. He thought for a moment "an inner feeling or voice viewed as acting as a guide to the rightness or wrongness of one's behavior." He recited from the internet. "Yes exactly." I started. "Everyone has one. I know you have one too. You say you'll do anything for the mission even if it means death. But you saved us. You went against your conscience... your programming" I said making his LED flash red. He remained silent for a moment. "I thought.... in that moment.... you and Lieutenant Anderson's life was the only thing that mattered..." he admitted

The doctor came in and examined me. "Refrain from walking on it as much as possible. And avoid sleeping on your sides for a while to keep your neck from bruising any more" he prescribed me some medicine and we were on our way. Hank dropped us off at my house. And what do you know. Connor carried me inside. He set me on the couch with my ankle on top of a pillow. He put an ice pack on top of it. "Would you like anything to eat?" He asked. "If you can find anything in that fridge than knock yourself out". A couple minutes later he handed me a bowl of Mac and Cheese. "Okay it's scary how well you know me" I laughed "I pay attention" he winked. My face must have lit up so red. That wink though! I patted the couch so he'd sit next to me. "What movie do you wanna watch?" I asked him. "Any movie is fine. I'm just happy I get to be here and help you" He smiled. I planted a quick kiss on his cheek for being sweet. While I ate we watched a scary movie. I don't know why. I hate scary movies because they give me nightmares.Connors POV
It wasn't long before Maria fell asleep. Her head drifted and landed on my shoulder. Connor didn't know what to do. Should he wake her up and take Maria to bed? Or leave Maria here? Connor didn't want to move her. She was warm. Her being there made Connor happy.

He turned the movie off and connected to the house to shut all lights off just by closing Connors eyes. Maria's head further buried into his shoulder and her arm around his waist. Connor leaned his head on her, and put his arm on top of Maria's. Connor closed his eyes and attempted to "sleep".Sorry that this chapter is slow and I'm sorry there was no upload yesterday. I am starting my new job soon so I've been going back and forth to them yesterday and today getting everything in the system. It's been stressful and I wanted to write but I'm having writers block. Also yes the in game story line does not match up. The missions are out of order. I ordered them to what would work with my story the best. Markus will come in eventually just be patient. :)
