                         Chapter 10

    

                 I took Cammie to the hotel room. I contacted Grant about what had happened. There was only one bed so I put her on the bed and I slept on the couch.

        "NOOOOO!" I heard Cammie scream as she woke up in the early early morning. I got off the couch and rushed beside her.

        "Cam it's okay, it was just a dream I said pressing my lips to her forehead.

        "I wish it was just a dream Zach." She said back to me.

        "Do you want to tell me what happened?"

       "No you will be upset with me if I tell you." She said. Goodness, how many secrets does she have that I don't know about.

        "Cam I have told you, I won't be mad."

        "Well before you woke up Catherine spoke to me privately. She told me she would torture you if I didn't tell her where Bex and Grant were but I made a deal with her that she could torture me instead of you. I just didn't want you to get hurt, that's all." She said sleepy eyed.

        "Oh Cammie." I said kissing her cheek. "Please stop volunteering to be hurt instead of me. You have been through enough. I don't want to see you hurt again. Promise me you will stop."

         "No." She said. "I can't promise that."

         "Cam please." I begged.

         "No." She said again. A tear came to my eye but I had cried to much lately I didn't want her to see me cry. I held her the rest of the short sleep we had left as she slept in my lap.

         The morning came too fast.

         "How do you feel?" I asked her.

         "Fine." She said. Her eyes were sleepy.

          "No. Cam can you please just tell me how you really feel for once?" I said tired of her feeling like she had to be string, tired of her always taking the pain when I would want it instead of her, tired of her having so many secrets that I thought I knew, I was just tired. "Please Cam?"

        "Black Hawks aren't supposed to feel." She said. "So I dont."

     

        Later in the day I had Jonas on the phone.

       "Yea man I'm just tired of her feeling like she had to be string, tired of her always taking the pain when I would want it instead of her, tired of her having so many secrets that I thought I knew, I am simply tired of her running away."

        "Well Zach you picked a tough one but she's the perfect girl for you. You need to chase her where ever she runs and she will soften up as time goes on. You simply need to love her."

          Then Liz started to talk. "Yeah Zach I agree with Jonas, you need to chase her for now and love her and tell it is all okay. She has been traumatized multiple times."

           "I just want her to trust me." I said.

          "She trusts you more than anyone Zach, but she dosent want to hurt you. You have kept many secrets from her. Don't expect her to be different. You weren't tortured by her mom though."
