                             Chapter 13

I was the only one with Cam. It had been three weeks. Grant and Zach had gone to get Coffee. I went out into the hallway for a minuet to see which way they had gone. The went left.

"Cam?!?!" I yelled. When I turned around she was gone. I looked everwhere. Wen the boys came back I told them what happened.

"Cammie!" We all started to shout.

       "Cam where are you?"

       "Cam?"

       We looked all over.

"Cam what are you doing in here?" I heard Grant say.

"I got board in that stupid room, so I came to get coffee." She said. She tried to get up but we could both see she was in pain. Grant went to her aid like the romantic and gentleman he was. He simply picked her up bridal style.

"Let's get you back to your room, I am sure Zach will..."

"Cammie?" Zach said running down the hall towards us.

"Zach." Her voice was soft and weak. She outstretched her arm to hug him, but he took her from Grant and held her tight.

       "Cammie."

"Zach." She smiled finally to be in his arms. Aww they were the cutest couple ever.

"Cam, look at me." He said to her gently setting her onto her bed. " How are you?" Was his only question to her. Grant came up to me , and put his arms around my waist and kissed my neck.

"I have never had a bad day in my life." She said.

        "Never?" He started to laugh.

        "Never." She said smiling.

"We will give you two a minute." Grant said.

"But only a minute because you two might run away again. And I still have to yell at you both for leaving in the first place." I said as Grant was dragging me out the door.

Zach POV

"I don't even know what to say." I said. She just looked sad.

"I.... uh... I am sorry Zachary." I gave her a questioning look.

"It's okay. But why did you tell me to let you go?"

"I didn't want to get your hopes up." She finally said.

"My hopes? I am trained not to have hopes."

"So am I, but yet you do." She said. those words made me realize that I needed to be stronger for her.

         "I am sorry."

"Don't be. I know I would have died without you." She said. "But Zach, you... you scared me."

        "How?"

"When you shot your mom, you looked like you had no heart. You looked like you didn't care, your eyes were so cold."

"To be honest Cam, I didn't care."

        "Why?"

"Because she couldn't hurt you anymore."

"But you didn't even wait till she armed her self, I was waiting till she had a knife."

"Why wait when life is short."

"Why wait when life is short?"

"You don't." Isaid. "You just dont."

"Cant or wont?" She asked me.

         "Dont." I simply said.

"It can't be that. It has to be can't or wont."

           "No it dosent."

          "Yes it does!"

"What is going on? It dosent have to be can't or wont."

            "Yes Zachary it does."

"Why are you calling me Zachary?"

"Because I won't call you Zach." She said.

"What is it with you and simple words?"

"I want the truth for once."

"Why? You don't ever give me the truth." I snapped back.

"Fine." She said. She ended the conversation with fine.

          "Whats that supposed to mean?"

"Fine is a simple word Zachary. And I seem to have a problem with them, so what did I do wrong this time?"

"Nothing, you didn't do anything wrong."

"THEN WHY WONT YOU ANSWER ME?!?!" She yelled pushing me away. "Sometimes waiting is a good thing. But I for one WONT wait. I guess the question is will you?"

         "What, are you waiting for?"

"For you, you idiot! Gosh, all this is for you!" She yelled at me again.

        "What?" I said taken back.

"I am waiting for you to be ready to live a life with me! You asked me to marry you but I can tell your mind is somewhere else and you won't tell me where. I just want to know what is going on in your life. I need to know what is going on in your life, will you ever tell me?"

        "How did you know?"

        "I love you, that's how."

"Well, lately the whole abby being a mom now thing, has been freaking me out. I have to be an uncle, I have to be a good influence, I have to be a good husband, I need to protect you, I need to protect our relationship, I am not good at that, as you can tell. I need to be the best I can possibly be for you, be the man you deserve, I need to give you a good life. How do I do that, because I don't know anymore."

"Zach come here." She said in her normal voice.

        "I don't know anymore." I repeated.

"You think you have to be perfect, don't you?" She said creasing my face.

"I just don't want to mess this up."

"Hey, Zach, look at me." She she tilting my face up. "I love you. Simply simple. That is all that matters, when you truly love someone, you over look their faults."

"I love you." I said back. "I love you too." I kissed her gently than harder.

        "Just be honest with me."

        "I will if you will."

        "Deal." I said.
